Applications are invited from eligible candidates who are citizens of India for filling up the various posts of the University as indicated below:


1. System Administrator

Total Post: 01 (UR)

Required Qualification: B.E./ B.Tech securing at least 60% in Computer Science and Engineering/ Electronics and Communication Engineering/ Instrumentation Engineering with 5 (five) years working experience computing at University/ IT Sector or any other similar sector.

Pay Scale: Rs.30,000-1,10,000 plus GP- Rs.14,500/-



2. Secretary to the Vice Chancellor

Total Post: 01 (UR)

Required Qualification: Graduate in any discipline securing minimum 55% marks or equivalent CGPA, having experience of minimum 3 (three) years in any organization with the computer application, office management using IT tools, secretarial and office practice etc.

Pay Scale: Rs.22,000-87,000 plus GP- Rs.9,100/-



3. Assistant Accountant

Total Post: 01 (UR)

Required Qualification: Graduate in Commerce with specialization in Accountancy.

Pay Scale: Rs.14,000-49,000 plus GP- Rs.8,000/-



4. Administrative Assistant

Total Post: 01 (UR)

Required Qualification: Graduate in any discipline with skill in computer, knowledge of office procedure in Govt., Semi Govt. or Autonomous organization.

Pay Scale: Rs.14,000-49,000 plus GP- Rs.8,700/-



Age Limit: Minimum age should be 18-years and Maximum age of 44-years as on 01-01-2018. Relaxation of 5 (five) years in the age of SC/ ST candidates.


Application Fee:

  • For Sl No. 1 is Rs. 1000/-
  • For Sl No. 2, 3 & 4 is Rs. 500/-
  • Reserved category applicants need to pay 50% of the above-specified amount.

Mode of Selection:
  1. System Administrator- Through interview only
  2. Secretary to the Vice Chancellor- Written test followed by secretarial practice and computer skill test.
  3. Assistant Accountant- Written test followed by computer skill test.
  4. Administrative Assistant- Written test followed by computer skill test.

  • The envelope sending the application should be superscribed Application for the post of "Name of the Post (Post Code)" on the top of the envelope addressed to The Registrar, Assam Science and Technology University, Tetelia Road, Jalukbari, Guwahati-781013". The size of the prescribed form is approximately 21cm x 29.7cm (A4 size). The only downloaded form will be accepted.
  • Last Date of application to be received at university office 25.10.2018.
