The Directorate of Welfare of Scheduled Castes and Other Backward Classes, Assam has released notification for the Assam SC Scholarship Scheme 2026-27. Under this scheme, students belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC) of Assam may apply online for Pre-Matric and Post-Matric Scholarships by filling online applications through National Scholarship Portal (NSP) www.scholarships.gov.in


Assam SC Scholarship Details

Eligibility Criteria of SC Scholarship Assam


➢ Caste: Students should belong to Scheduled Caste.

➢ Citizenship: The scholarships are open to Nationals of India only.
 
➢ State of Domicile: Domicile state means the state in which students have their permanent address. Students are required to provide their domicile state correctly as their applications may be sent for verification to the Authorities belonging to their State of Domicile. 

➢ Family Income:

Pre-Matric (Class-IX & X) [Component-I] and Post-Matric Scholarship:

Scholarships will be granted to the SC students whose parental/guardian's income from all sources does not exceed Rs. 2.5 lakhs per annum. The income certificate should be obtained only from the Circle Officer of respective Revenue Circle.

Pre-Matric (Class I-X) [Component-II] Scholarship:

• No income bar for the children of those Engaged in Occupation involving Cleaning and Prone to Health Hazards.

• Children of those Engaged in Occupation involving Cleaning and Prone to Health Hazards, Eligible candidates will submit a certificate from District Social Welfare office, identified officer of Local body, Civic Agency or any such authority as designated by State Government.
 
Bonafide Certificate: A Bonafide Certificate is required to be obtained from the Head of the Institutions is to be submitted for all above three (3) cases. 
 
 

Instructions for Applicants


1) Students while applying for scholarships schemes are hereby required to register themselves in NSP through “NSP OTR” app available in Google play store and perform Face-authentication for generating One Time Registration (OTR) number which has been made mandatory for applying for scholarship. 2) Aadhaar and mobile number registered with Aadhaar are mandatory for generating OTR. However for minor applicants who apply without Aadhaar, it will be mandatory for parent to provide Aadhaar.
 
3) Applicants are advised to give only that bank account details which remains in active mode so that payment of Scholarship does not fail as all the disbursement of Scholarship will be made through DBT mode. The authority shall not be responsible for any failure of transaction due to inactive or incorrect bank details.

4) Applicants to ensure that they have a bank account seeded with Aadhaar number (Mandatory).
 
5) The above conditions will be applicable for both fresh and renewal.

Notification regarding OBC Scholarship Scheme 2026-2027 for students of Assam has been out. Students belonging to OBC/ MOBC category may apply online for these Pre-Matric and Post-Matric scholarships for the academic year 2026-2027.  This scholarship scheme is a centrally sponsored scholarship scheme by the Government of India for eligible OBC/ MOBC students. The students shall be given a consolidated academic allowance of Rs. 4000/- per annum. 
 
Post-Matric Scholarship

Eligibility Criteria of Assam OBC Scholarship:


Pre-Matric Scholarship for OBC Students:

• Scholarship award will be sanctioned in the case of students whose parents/ guardians income from all sources does not exceed Rs.2,50,000/- per annum.

• The scholarships may be given to the students enrolled in class I or any subsequent class of pre-matric stage in the case of day scholars, and class III or any subsequent class of pre-matric stage in the case of hostlers. The scholarship will terminate at the end of class X. The duration of scholarship in an academic year will be 10 months.

• The scholarship will be tenable only in such institutions and for such pre-matriculation courses, which have been duly recognized by the concerned State Government and Union Territory Administrations.
• The students may not be allowed to take up employment or render help to parents in their work during the course of studies.

• The award will be discontinued if a student fails to secure annual promotion except in case of unavoidable reasons to be certified by the competent authority of the scheme.

• Migration of students from one institution to another would not normally be allowed during the course of academic year except under exceptional circumstances and in the interest of student's academic career.

• The scholar obtaining benefits under this scheme shall not be allowed to avail of benefits under any other pre-matric scholarship scheme.

• Regular attendance record not less than 60% in the previous year should be pre-requisite for availing scholarship.

• At least 5% students with disabilities should be covered for grant of the scholarships.

• To avoid any duplication, bank accounts of the target beneficiaries should be Aadhar seeded.

• 30% of the beneficiaries should be reserved for girl students.

Post-Matric Scholarship for OBC Students:

• The scholarships will be open to Indian nationals belonging to OBCs, as notified by the Central Govt./ State Govt./ UT Admn.;

• These scholarships will be given for the study of all recognized post matriculation or post-secondary courses pursued in recognized institutions with the following exceptions:

"Scholarships shall not be awarded for training courses like Aircraft Maintenance Engineer's Course and Private Pilot License Courses. Courses at Training-Ship Dufferin (Now Rejendra); Courses of training at the Military College, Dehradun, Courses at pre-examination Training Centres of All India and State levels."

• Only those candidates who belong to OBCs so specified in relation to the State/UT to which the applicant actually belongs, i.e. permanently settled and who have passed the Matriculation or Higher secondary or any higher examination of a recognized University or Board of Secondary Education will be eligible.

• Candidates who, after passing one stage of education, are studying in the same stage of education in different subject e.g. I. Sc. after I.A or B.Com. after B.A. or M.A. in a subject after M.A in another subject will not be eligible.

• Students who, after having completed their educational career in one professional line, e.g., LLB after B.T/B. Ed will not be eligible.

• Students studying in XI Class of the Higher Secondary School courses or the XII class of the Multipurpose High School will not be eligible for it being a continuous school course. However, in cases, where tenth class examination of such courses is treated as equivalent to Matriculation and students who after passing tenth class join other courses, such students will be treated as post-matric students and will be eligible for the award of scholarships.

• Students pursuing Post-graduate courses in medicine will be eligible if they are not allowed to practice during the period of their course.

• Students who after failing or passing the Under Graduate/Post-Graduate examinations in Arts/science/Commerce join any recognized professional or Technical certificate/diploma/degree courses will be awarded scholarships if otherwise eligible. No subsequent failure will be condoned except courses in Group 'A' and no further change in the course will be allowed.

• Students who pursue their studies through correspondence courses will be eligible towards reimbursement of non-refundable fee. The term correspondence includes distant and continuing education. Besides reimbursement of non-refundable fee, such students will also be eligible for an annual allowance of Rs. 900/- for essential/prescribed books, as applicable.

• Only two boys of the same parents/guardian will be entitled to receive scholarships. This restriction will, however, not apply to girls. Accordingly, scholarship availed by girls of same parents/guardian will not adversely affect admissibility of availing scholarship upto two boys of same parents/guardian.

• A scholarship holder under this Scheme will not hold any other scholarship/stipend. If awarded any other scholarship/stipend, the students can exercise his/her option for either of the two scholarships/stipends, whichever is more beneficial to him/her and should inform the awarding authority through the Head of the Institution about the option made. No scholarship will be paid to the students under this Scheme from the date he/she accepts any other scholarships/stipend. The student can however, accept free lodging or a grant or ad-hoc monetary help from the State Government or any other source for the purchase of books, equipment or for meeting the expenses on board and lodging, in addition to the scholarship amount paid under this Scheme.

• Scholarship holders who are receiving coaching in any of the pre-examination training centers with financial assistance from the Central Government/State Government will not be eligible for stipend under the coaching schemes for the duration of the coaching programme.

• Employed students whose income combined with the income of their parents/guardians does not exceed Rs. 1.00 lakh per annum shall be eligible for post-matric scholarships to the extent of reimbursement of all compulsorily payable non-refundable fees.

• In case of unemployed students whose parents/guardians income from all sources does not exceed Rs. 1.00 lakh per annum will be entitled for the scholarship under the Scheme.

The Online Application Form for apply OBC Scholarship Assam is available in the national scholarship portal https://scholarships.gov.in. Eligible candidates (Fresh & Renewal) are required to apply online by filling up online application form available in the national scholarship portal https://scholarships.gov.in by following the below mentioned steps:

For Fresh Candidates

STEP-1: Visit official website of this scholarship (https://scholarships.gov.in) which is below mention in Important Links section. After that, click on New Registration option, again read the instruction and click on green coloured Continue button.

STEP-2: A page will be displayed, enter all Personal Details such as State, Bank details, Date of Birth, etc. and, verify captcha and click on red coloured Register button.

STEP-3: After that, A page containing your Student Application ID will be displayed, Please note this ID for future use and Click on Continue button.

STEP-4: Now a Login Page will be displayed, Enter Your User ID, Password (password will be sent on your Registered Mobile No), Verify Captcha and Click on Orange Login button.

STEP-5: Now Fill up your all Registration Details, Academic Details, Basic Details and click on Save & Continue button.

STEP-6: After that, Again fill up Contact Details, Scheme Details (Post-Matric or Post-Matric Scholarship OBC Students), Upload Documents such as Caste Certificate & Income Certificate and click on green coloured Final Submit button.

STEP-7: Once registration is complete on click of submit button, a Permanent Registration ID is generated which can be used for Renewal and tracking the status of application.

For Renewal Candidates: 

Renewal Students have to apply with their Application Id and Date of Birth which they registered previous year. Students can also use Forgot Application ID to retrieve their ID. Only those students would be able to Renew who had actually got the scholarship payments last year from NSP 1.0.

Degree Programme: A candidate must have passed Higher Secondary/10+2/ Intermediate examination with Physics, Chemistry and Biology (PCB) or Physics, Chemistry and Agriculture (PCAg) from a recognized University or Board. [Gen/OBC/UPS: 50%, SC/ST/DAC: 40%]

B.Sc (Hons) Sericulture Degree Programme: A candidate must have passed Higher Secondary/10+2/Intermediate examination with Physics, Chemistry and Biology (PCB) or Physics, Chemistry and Agriculture (PCAg) or Physics, Chemistry and Forestry (PC Forestry) or Physics, Chemistry Mathematics and Biology (PCMB) from a recognized University or Board. [Gen/OBC/UPS: 50%, SC/ST/DAC: 40%]

B.V.Sc. & A.H. Degree Programme: 10 + 2) passed students from Science stream having the certificate of Permanent Residence of Assam only should apply for the test. Those who are appearing in (10 + 2, science) are also eligible to sit in the VET 2019, but they have to pass 10 + 2 exam before the date of admission.

B.Sc. (Hons) Community Science/ Food Nutrition & Dietetics degree programme: A candidate must have passed Higher Secondary/10+2/Intermediate examination with Physics, Chemistry & Biology (PCB) or Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology (PCMB) or Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) or Physics, Chemistry & Agriculture (PCAg) or Physics, Chemistry & Home Science (PCHSc.) as subjects from a recognized University or Board.

VLEW, VFA, F.D. & S.D. : A candidate must have passed at least Higher Secondary/10+2 or equivalent examinations in science group with Physics, Chemistry & Biology (or Botany and Zoology in place of Biology), with 45% marks in aggregate and must have passed in all subjects in one sitting. Should possess at least 3 years practical field experience Must be sponsored by the Director of Agriculture, Director of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary, Director of Fisheries, Director of Sericulture, Govt. of Assam, respectively, for B. Sc. (Hons) Agriculture, B. V. Sc. & A. H., B. F. Sc. and B.Sc (Hons) Sericulture degree programmes.

Selection & Admission Process of AAU Jorhat


The Application has to be submitted online within the prescribed date. The date(s) of Entrance Test and schedule of admission cum counseling shall be notified in due course through AAU Website.

Assam ITI Admission Process 2026


(a) After registration, all the candidates will have to report at their nearest Govt. ITI along with their all original documents, certificates etc. within the scheduled date & time, for verification of their registration particulars.

(b) Candidates should note that after successful verification, they may fill their choices of trades and ITIs according to their preference, to enable them to participate in the allotment process.

(c) Allotted candidates should take admission in their allotted seats otherwise their candidature will be treated as cancelled.

(d) The passed out candidates from NCVT trades will be issued NCVT certificates & from SCVT trades will be issued SCVT certificates.


Counseling for ITI Admission


After registration, all the candidates will have to report at their nearest Govt. ITI along with their all original documents, certificates etc. within the scheduled date & time, for verification of their registration particulars. Next, the candidate has to fill his choices & save his choice within the stipulated time period as declared by the DE&CT Assam in counselling schedule.

After the choice filling is over, all filled choices of all registered candidates will be considered for allotment of seats as per merit (Rank) & category of the candidate. The allotment will be made against one seat & the allotment of seat is purely provisional. 

The counselling process will be online only .
