Who are Eligible for ASSEB HSLC Compartmental Exam

Students must fulfill the following criteria to appear in the ASSEB Assam Compartmental Examination, 2026:

a) Subjects: Failed students in maximum 3 subjects will be eligible for this exam.

b) Aggregate Marks: Students who get minimum 170 marks in main exam will be eligible for this exam.

c) Exam: Only those students who have participated in ASSEB HSLC Exam, 2026 will be eligible for this exam.

 

 

Minimum Passing Marks for HSLC compartmental Exam

● Students must score at least 30% marks in each compartment subject appear for.

● After passing the compartment subject(s), the students's overall total should reach at least 180 marks to become successful.

Selection Process of Gauhati High Court JAA Posts

Stage 1 - Common Written Test 

Type of question: OMR based objective Questions 

Duration: 2 hour 

Total marks: 120 marks

Negative marking: Each question will carry 1(one) mark. There is negative marking for every wrong answer. One-fourth (i.e. 0.25) mark will be deducted for every wrong Answer.

Syllabus: 

• General English (50 marks), General Knowledge including Computer Knowledge (30 marks) and General Aptitude (20 marks).
• Official language of the state of Assam (Assamese): 20 marks (which will be qualifying in nature, qualifying marks shall be 40% of 20 i.e. 8 marks).

Assamese Language Test: Marks obtained in the Assamese language segment will not be counted in preparing the merit list of written test as well as the final select list.

Shortlisting: Candidates in the ratio of 1:5 from the rank-wise mark-sheet of the written test (5 times the total posts of a particular district) will be called to the Stage 2 i.e. Computer Skill Test (35 marks). 

Stage 2 - Computer skill test of 35 marks

❖ Computer Typing Test in a Typing Application Software (20 marks): 

The test of typing speed and accuracy in word processing shall be conducted with the help of typing application software. Candidates will be required to type a paragraph and on the basis of such typing, the number of correct words per minute (WPM)/net speed of the candidate will be taken into consideration.

❖ Proficiency in word processor and spreadsheet (15 marks): 

Candidates in the ratio of 1:3 from the combined rank-wise mark-sheet of the written test and computer skill test (3 times the total no. of posts for a particular district) will be called to the Stage 3 i.e. Viva-voce (15 marks).  

 

Stage III - Viva-voce of 15 marks

On the basis of the grand total marks (out of 150) obtained by the candidates in the Written Test (Out of 100), Computer Skill test (out of 35) and viva-voce (15), the final selection will be made district wise.

1. Psychometric Test (No separate marks)
 

➢ Assesses personality traits, behavior, leadership style, teamwork, emotional intelligence, and decision-making ability.
➢ The report may be used by the interview panel during the interview.
 

2. Group Exercise (GE) – 20 Marks
 

➢ Candidates participate in a group activity/discussion.
➢ Evaluates communication skills, teamwork, leadership, problem-solving, and ability to work in a group.
 

3. Personal Interview (PI) – 30 Marks
 

➢ One-to-one interaction with the interview board.
➢ Tests banking awareness, current affairs, personal background, confidence, communication skills, and overall suitability for the role.

For those subjects not being taught as Honours/Core courses in Cotton University the entrance examinations shall be based on corresponding standard syllabuses reputed Universities of India under UGC.

Negative Marking: For every correct answer 4 marks shall be awarded and for each wrong answer 1 mark shall be deducted.

Cotton University PG Merit Lists & Admission:

(i) Subject-wise merit list will be prepared for CPGEE-2026 and GAT-B 2026 (for MBBT) examinations. Merely being named in the merit list does not mean that a candidate is entitled for admission. The merit list may be published tentatively within l5 days of conclusion of the CPGEE-2026.
 

(ii) Admission into both Cotton Graduates and Open Category candidates will be announced soon after publication of the merit lists.
