The Directorate of Secondary Education (DSE), Assam is going to release Admit Card to conduct the Assam TET cum Recruitment Test 2024 for the posts of 8230 nos. Graduate Teacher (GT) and 1487 nos. Post Graduate Teacher (PGT).

The written test is scheduled to be held on 29th December 2024. Candidates who have applied online applications for the Assam GT/ PGT TET Recruitment Test 2024 can download their admit cards starting from 15th December 2024 onwards. The admit cards will be available on the official website of DSE i.e. madhyamik.assam.gov.in.

How to Apply for Assam GT PGT Admit Card


Candidates who have applied for the Assam GT PGT TET Recruitment Test 2024 between 21st October and 20th November 2024 can download their admit cards from the official website of DSE Assam (https://madhyamik.assam.gov.in) using their Application Number and Password. Assam GT PGT Admit Cards will be available on the portal from 15th December 2024.

The candidates will have to produce hard copy of the Admit Card and a Photo Identity Card issued by Government such as Aadhaar card, PAN card, Driving License, Voter-ID Card to appear in the Written Examination and must follow all the instructions mentioned in the Admit Card. In case of PwBD candidates, certificate from Competent Authority will also be required.

Objectives of the Ishan Uday Scholarship


1) To provide equal opportunities for higher studies in NE Region.
2) To increase the Gross Enrolment Ratio (GER) in NE Region.
3) To focus more on professional education in NE Region.
4) Optimum utilization of NER Budgetary Allocation.

It is envisaged to provide ten thousand (10,000) fresh scholarships every year beginning from the academic year 2014-15 for general degree courses, technical and professional courses, including medical and para-medical courses.


Eligibility Criteria of Ishan Uday Scholarship 2024


Type of Educational Institutes: Students with domicile of NER who have passed Class XII or equivalent exam from a school situated within NER through any recognized Board of Education, including Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE), National institute of open Schooling (NIOS) within NER only, and have secured admission in general degree course, technical and professional courses including medical and paramedical courses (Integrated courses included) in Universities/Colleges/Institutions recognized as under

A) Universities/Institutions/Colleges included under Section 2(f) and 12 (B) of UGC Act.
B) Deemed to be Universities included under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956 and eligible to receive grants-in-aid from UGC.
C) Universities/Institutions/Colleges funded by Central / State Government.
D) Institutes of National Importance.
E) Institutions recognized by other Statutory councils within as well as outside
 
Class: Only the students, who are already admitted in the first year of UG degree programme in an eligible university/college/institution within India, are eligible to apply. In other words, a student who has secured admission in UG programme in the academic year 2020-21 will be eligible for selection in the year 2020-21 only. Students, who have already acquired any degree, are not eligible to apply.

Type of Course: In case of ‘integrated’ and ‘dual degree’ programmes, the scholarship will be payable for the UG component only.
 
Mode of Course: The scholarship is available for students who are admitted in UG degree programme through ‘Regular/Full Time’ mode only. The students, who are pursuing any UG programme through open/ distance/ correspondence/ private/ part-time mode, are not eligible to apply.

Family Income: For availing scholarship under this scheme, the income of the parents of the student should not exceed Rs.4.5 lakh per annum.

Reservation: Transgender candidates are eligible to apply under the scheme. The reservation shall be followed as per Government of India norms.

Exclusions: The following shall not be eligible under this scheme-

1) Students pursuing courses/programs through Open Universities.
2) Students already availing scholarship for pursuing the Undergraduate programme under any other scheme(s).
3) Students gaining admission through ‘management quota’.
4) Students pursuing courses, such as Diploma Courses, not leading to award of a Degree.
5) Students whose parents’ income exceeds Rs.4.5 lakh per annum.


Selection Process of Ishan Uday Scholarship 2024


 → 10,000 (ten thousand) fresh scholarships will be awarded every year.
 → Distribution of slots amongst the states of NER will be done on the basis of population census(last).
 → If slots in a particular state remain vacant due to non-availability of eligible candidates, the unfilled slots will be distributed equitably amongst other states.
 → Reservation for Persons with Disability (PwD) will be made as per Government of India norms.


Duration of Ishan Uday Scholarship NER


 → After selection, the awardees will be paid scholarship on DBT mode.
 → The list of awardees will be pushed to Public Financial Management System (PFMS) by the NIC
 → PFMS will generate payment files on the basis of the nomenclature of course being pursued by the awardee (general degree/ technical/ medical/ professional/ paramedical).
 → Payments will be generated on annual basis.


Renewal of Ishan Uday Scholarship


1. Scholarship granted under the scheme will be kept renewed during the period of first degree course, subject to good conduct and maintenance of prescribed attendance.

2. The scholarship will be renewed for the next year of study on receipt of a annual progress report to be granted by the administrative head of the University/ Institution/ College. (E.g. Registrar of a University/ Director of the Institution/ Principal of the College or any other officer designated by them).

3. Students failing to get promoted to the next class/ level would forfeit the scholarship.

4. Change in course of study will not be permitted. If the awardee changes the course of study, the scholarship will stand forfeited from the date of such a change.

5. Scheme will be implemented and monitored by the UGC.

6. The awardees of previous years will continue to follow the UGC pattern of assistance through the designated bank branches of Canara Bank.

Eligible students are required to apply online through the National e-Scholarship Portal of the Government of India URL: https://scholarships.gov.in.

The following documents will be uploaded at the time of applying under the scheme on the NeSP.

3. For renewals, the annual progress report and continuation of studies will be required to be uploaded/ verified by the concerned University/ Institution/ College.

FAQs on Ishan Uday Scholarship Scheme


 Question 1:  Is the scheme open for all candidates enrolled in Indian Universities/ Colleges/ Institutes?
Answer: No. Only those candidates who have domicile of the North-Eastern states of India are covered under the schemes i.e.Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland and Tripura.

 Question 2:  Is there any annual income ceiling for candidates to be included under the scheme.
Answer: Yes, only those candidates whose annual family income is not equal or more than Rs.4.5 lakh per annum are covered under ambit of the scheme.

 Question 3:  Is there any need for uploading of domicile certificate alongwith the online application form.
Answer: Yes, the domicile certificate/ permanent resident certificate issued by the competent authority will have to be uploaded with the online application form.

 Question 4:  Are only first year undergraduate students eligible to apply?
Answer: Yes, only those students who have passed Class XII(CBSE board) or equivalent Examination of State Boards of NER are eligible to apply?

 Question 5:  Are students enrolled in Diploma courses or those who have cleared Class XII exam or equivalent in the preceding years eligible to apply?
Answer: No. Only those students who have qualified class XII exam or equivalent exam during the current academic year are eligible to apply.

 Question 6:  Are students enrolled in private/deemed universities (not funded by either Central or State Government) eligible to apply?
Answer: No. The scheme is applicable for students of first year undergraduate courses and enrolled in the following institutions are eligible to apply. 

 Question 7:  Are students enrolled in integrated courses of eligible institutions eligible to apply?
Answer: Yes. Students enrolled in integrated courses are eligible to apply. The awardee will however draw scholarship only for the undergraduate part of the course.

 Question 8:  Are students enrolled in dual degree courses eligible to apply?
Answer: Yes. However, the awardee will be eligible to draw scholarship only till the tenure of the first degree programme.

 Question 9:  Are all courses covered under the ambit of the scheme?
Answer: Yes. The scholarship will be awarded in general degree courses, professional courses, technical courses, medical and paramedical courses (including MBBS, BAMS, BDS, B.Arch, BTech etc.)

 Question 10:  Is there a difference is amount of scholarship payable to the awardees? How will
payments be regulated?
Answer: Yes. There are two amounts of scholarship payable to the awardees. Rs.5400/- p.m. for general degree courses viz. BA, BSc., BCom, BMS, BBA, etc. and Rs.7800/- p.m. for other courses viz.technical, professional, medical, paramedical courses, etc. The amount of scholarship payable will be determined according to the verification provided by the institution at the time of applying.

North Eastern Council (NEC) has invited online application NEC Merit Scholarship for the Financial year 2024-2025. The students of the Assam and North East (NE) Region undergoing studies in different disciplines at different levels in Institutions inside as well as outside the North-East but within the country India can apply online at scholarships.gov.in.

Eligibility Criteria of NEC Merit Scholarship:


Resident-ship: The scholarship is open only to a student who is a permanent resident of any of the North Eastern States.

Duration: Once selected, the scholarship shall be available to a selected student for the prescribed duration of a course subject to fulfillment of renewal conditions, as specified under Para 6 of these rules. Extension of scholarship beyond the prescribed period of study will not be entertained.

Other Scholarship Holder: At the time of availing the scholarship, the student must not be in receipt of any other scholarship/financial assistance from any other source. A sponsored candidate under full employment during the period of study or working/in-service candidates shall not be eligible to receive the scholarship.

Year of Awarding Scholarship: A student shall only be considered for scholarship in the year of commencement of his/her course. For subsequent year of course, only renewal will be allowed.

Course: Scholarship shall be admissible to students who get admission in Diploma, Degree, Post-graduate or registration in M.Phil. / Ph.D courses of any institute recognized by the Government. The grant of scholarship for M.Phil and Ph.D would be after the registration of the students with the University. The Scholarship will not be available for internship or any practical training.

Family Income: The scholarship shall be admissible to the students whose parent / guardian’s annual income from all sources shall not exceed Rs 8.0 lakh. The income certificate issued by the competent authority shall be furnished by the candidate.


Educational Qualification for NEC Merit Scholarship 2024

The student must fulfill the following eligibility criteria in the previous qualifying examination for consideration of scholarship:

• Level: Diploma
Qualifying Examination: HSLC/HSSLC/Secondary School Leaving /Senior Secondary Leaving certificate examination from a recognised State/Central board with minimum 60% marks in aggregate.

• Level: Degree
Qualifying Examination: HSSLC/Senior Secondary Leaving certificate examination from a recognised State/Central board with minimum 60% marks in aggregate.

• Level: Post Graduate
Qualifying Examination: Degree level examination in any discipline (BA/BSc/BE/B Tech/ MBBS/ LLB/ BCA/ BBA etc. of any recognized Institute/ University with minimum 60% marks in aggregate.

• Level: M.Phil./Ph.D
Qualifying Examination: PG degree from any recognized University with minimum 60% marks in aggregate.


Selection Process of NEC Merit Scholarship 2024


a) The merit lists will be drawn from among finally verified applications as per the scheme guidelines and after following the laid down procedure on the NSP.

b) Selection of students for M. Phil and Ph. D. will be done on the basis of topic of research/Synopsis which has relevance to the problems/issues related to NE Region. The Subjects/topics for M.Phil and Ph.D should invariably be directly, specifically and currently relevant to NE Region. Basic and theoretical research shall not be favoured in general.

c) The scholarship is purely on merit basis. The merit list will be prepared exclusively on the basis of marks obtained by the candidate in the qualifying exams and complying with the level-of-course-wise slots allotted to the states.

NEC Merit Scholarship Online Application Form 2024


The applicants are required to fill up application form on National Scholarship Portal (NSP) (www.scholarships.in), within the prescribed date for receipt of application, following due procedure/guidelines mentioned thereon.

They may also fill up the application form using NSP Mobile app or UMANG Mobile App. The applicants are, however, encouraged to apply at the earliest as it will provide them opportunity to make correction/updating etc. in their application, if suggested by the verification authority.

Documents Required for NEC Scholarship:


The applicant must be in possession of following documents at the time of application. He/She may be asked to upload a scanned copy of these documents as per requirement or extant rules /guidelines.

a) Permanent Residential Certificate (PRC) issued by the Dy. Commissioner /Addl. Dy. Commissioners/ Sub-divisional officer of civil sub-divisions in NE States; except Sikkim where Certificate of Identification (COI) issued by the respective Deputy Commissioner in the Govt. of Sikkim to its Permanent residents. Certificate from any other authority will not be accepted. (Mandatory)

b) Income Certificate issued by the Competent Authority (Mandatory)

c) Bank Account Pass Book – Account must be in the name of applicant (Optional)

d) Details of qualifying examination (Mandatory)

e) Synopsis signed by the project guide / Director(Research) or any official authorised by the Institute/University in the case of M.Phil/Ph.D. candidates (Mandatory).

f) Any other document as may be required under NSP guidelines.

Question 1: Who are eligible to apply for the NEC Scholarship Scheme?
Answer: Students fulfilling the eligibility criteria of the scheme guidelines of NEC Merit Scholarship of Ministry of DoNER are eligible to apply for these scholarships. These are available on the National Scholarship Portal.

Question 2: Is there is any reservation / quota under the scheme?
Answer: There will not be any reservation/quota on the basis of category/religion/gender.

Question 3: Is there any income criteria under the scheme?
Answer: Yes, the scholarship shall be admissible to the students whose parent / guardian’s annual income from all sources shall not exceed Rs 8.0 lakh.

Question 4: What is the criterion for selection of students for scholarships?
Answer: The scholarship is purely on merit basis. Question 5: I have enrolled in M/Phil / PhD, but my topic is not finalized, can I apply for scholarships?
Answer: No, only students whose MPhil / PhD topic is submitted and are registered with that topic can apply for scholarship?

Question 6: I have got scholarship for the 1st year, will I automatically be provided scholarships in the subsequent years of my study?
Answer: No, all existing and eligible beneficiaries of the scholarship are required to fill up the renewal form on NSP every year during their entire course period. Every renewal of scholarship is for a period of one academic year only, if not otherwise specified.

Question 7: Is renewal provided to all students who are selected for scholarships in first year of study?
Answer: No, there are various eligibility conditions to be fulfilled such as the student must pass in the particular year or be promoted to next semester/year, there is no break in the scholarship, the Insitute of study or subject of study should not be changed etc. Please

Question 8: Can I apply as a Fresh candidate if I am a Renewal candidate?
Answer: No, a student shall only be considered for scholarship in the year of commencement of his/her course. For subsequent year of course, only renewal will be allowed. So you cannot apply as a fresh if you are a Renewal candidate. Your application will be rejected in that case.

Question 9: Am I eligible to get scholarship for the entire period of my study?
