APSC Recruitment 2024 - PWRD Department Notification

Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) has released a job advertisement for the recruitment of 80 Junior Engineer (JE Mechanical) vacancies under the joint cadre of Public Works Roads Department (PWRD) and Public Works (Bldg. & NH) Department. Category-wise vacancy:

• UR: 44 posts

• OBC/MOBC: 25 posts

• OBC/MOBC (Tea Tribe & Adivasi Community): 1 post

• SC: 1 post

• STP: 5 posts

• STH: 4 posts

Scale of Pay: PB-2, Rs 14000/- to Rs 60500/-, Grade Pay Rs 8700/-

Other Criteria of APSC Recruitment

Age Limit: The candidates should not be less than 18 years of age and not more than 38 years of age as on 01/01/2024. 

Age Relaxation: The upper age limit is relaxable :

(i) By 5 years for SC/ST candidates, i.e. upto 43 years.

(ii) By 3 years for OBC/MOBC candidates i.e. upto 41 years

(iii) For Persons with benchmark disability (PWBD) by 10 years irrespective of SC/ST/OBC and General Category of candidate.

Educational Qualification:

(a) The candidate must have a Three year Diploma in båechanical Engineering from any technical institute recognized by the Govemment.

(b) The Diploma must be a Regular course. Diploma courses obtained through Distance Mode of Education, by whatever name called, will not be accepted.

(c) Apart from English, the candidate should have adequate knowledge of at least 1 (one) official language of the State of Assam (i.e. Assamese/Bengali/Bodo) except candidates belonging to Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council and Dima Hasao Autonomous Council

Domicile: 

(i) The candidate must be a permanent resident of Assam.

(ii) The Candidate must produce PRC issued in Assam for educational purpose as a proof of residency along with the application form

Or

(iii) The candidate must produce Employment Exchange Registration certificate in the state of Assam along with the application form .
