Applications from eligible candidates are invited to fill up various positions under Guwahati Metropolitan Drinking Water and Sewerage Board (GMDWSB) on contractual basis.


Vacancies in the Water Supply Department


1. Electronics and Instrumentation Engineer - [01 Post]

  • Bachelor degree in Electrical/ Electronics/ Instrumentation engineering. 
  • 10 years experience in managing Electrical/ Electronics/ Instrumentation component of water supply projects in India. 
  • Experience of managng SCADA system. 
  • Must be computer literate and should have knowledge of MS-office, internet etc.
Remuneration: 75,000/-



2. Operation Engineer - [01 Post]

  • Bachelor degree in  Civil/ Environmental/ Mechanical engineering. 
  • 10 years experience in managing operation & maintenance of water supply projects.
  • Experience in establishing & managing DMAs, NRW reduction is desirable. 
  • Must be computer literate and should have knowledge of MS-office, internet etc.
Remuneration: 75,000/-


3. Mechanical Engineer - [01 Post]

  • Bachelor degree in Mechanical engineering. 
  • 5 years experience in managing mechanical component of water supply projects. 
  • Experience of working in water treatment plants of water supply projects is desirable.
  • Must be computer literate and should have knowledge of MS-office, internet etc.
Remuneration: 65,000/-


4. Chemical Engineer - [01 Post]

  • Bachelor degree in engineering/ master degree in chemistry.
  • 3 years experience in chemical component of water supply projects.
  • Experience of laboratory assessment of water quality is desirable. 
  • Must be computer literate and should have knowledge of MS-office, internet etc.
Remuneration: 50,000/-


5. Process Engineer - [01 Post]

  • Bachelor degree in Civil/ Environmental/ Mechanical engineering.
  • 5 years experience in water supply projects in managing water treatment.
  • Experience in establishing & managing DMAs, NRW reduction is desirable. 
  • Must be computer literate and should have knowledge of MS-office, internet etc.
Remuneration: 50,000/-


6. Assistant Operation Engineer - [01 Post]

  • Bachelor degree in Civil/ Environmental/ Mechanical engineering.
  • 3 years experience in managing operation & maintenance of water supply projects.
  • Experience in establishing & managing DMAs, NRW reduction is desirable. 
  • Must be computer literate and should have knowledge of MS-office, internet etc.
Remuneration: 50,000/-


7. Assistant Electro-Mechanical Engineer - [01 Post]

  • Bachelor degree in Electrical/ Instrumentation/ Mechanical engineering.
  • 3 years experience in managing electro-mechanical equipments of a water treatment plant, water supply system etc. 
  • Must be computer literate and should have knowledge of MS-office, internet etc.
Remuneration: 50,000/-


8. Distribution Maintenance Engineer - [04 Posts]

  • Diploma in Civil/ Environmental/ Mechanical engineering.
  • 3 years experience in managing operation & maintenance of water supply networks, establishing & managing DMAs, NRW reduction etc.
  • Must be computer literate and should have knowledge of MS-office, internet etc.
Remuneration: 30,000/-


9. SCADA Operator - [01 Post]

  • Diploma in engineering.
  • 3 years experience in managing SCADA in water supply projects.
  • Must be computer literate and should have knowledge of MS-office, internet etc.

10. MIS Engineer - [01 Post]

  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science, IT or MCA.
  • 3 years experience in MIS reporting, designing MIS, database management etc.
Remuneration: 50,000/-


11. IT Engineer - [01 Post]

  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science, IT or MCA.
  • 3 years experience in IT, hardware, software designing, management of billing collection software.

12. Senior Administrative Officer - [01 Post]

  • Post Graduate degree in Business Administration/ MBA/ Public Administration etc.
  • 10 years experience in overall office management Human Resource Management, office administration, public procurement etc.
  • Must be computer literate and should have knowledge of MS-office, internet etc.

13. HR Officer - [01 Post]

  • Post Graduate degree in Business Administration/ MBA in Human Resource Management.
  • 3 years experience in Human Resource Management, recruitment, training etc.
  • Experience of Government projects will be added advantage.
  • Must be computer literate and should have knowledge of MS-office, internet etc.
Remuneration: 40,000/-


14. UDA - [01 Post]

  • Graduate in any stream.
  • Minimum 5 yearsrelevant post qualification experience.
  • Must be computer literate and should have knowledge of MS-office, internet etc.
Remuneration: 30,000/-


15. LDA - [02 Posts]

  • Graduate in any stream.
  • Minimum 3 yearsrelevant post qualification experience.
  • Must be computer literate and should have knowledge of MS-office, internet etc.
Remuneration: 20,000/-


16. Data Entry Operator - [01 Post]

  • Graduate in any stream with diploma in computer application.
  • Minimum 3 years relevant post qualification experience.
  • Must be computer literate and should have knowledge of MS-office, internet etc.

17. Finance Manager - [01 Post]

  • MCOM/ MBA (Finance)/ CA/ ICWA or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years working experience.
  • Experience in working in Government programmes preferred.
  • Must be computer literate, knowledge of tally software will be added advantage.
Remuneration: 65,000/-


18. Accountant - [01 Post]

  • Master Degree in Commerce.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant post qualification experience.
  • Experience of working in Tally software.
  • Sound knowledge of Government Accounting, Income Tax, GST and other Taxation matters.
  • Must be computer literate and should have knowledge of MS-office, internet etc.
Remuneration: 40,000/-


19. Cashier - [01 Post]

  • Bachelor degree in Commerce.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant post qualification experience.
  • Experience of working in Tally software.
  • Sound knowledge of Government Accounting, Income Tax, GST and other Taxation matters.
  • Must be computer literate and should have knowledge of MS-office, internet etc.
Remuneration: 25,000/-


17. Collection Clerk - [02 Posts]

  • Graduate in any stream.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Must be computer literate and should have knowledge of MS-office, internet etc.
Remuneration: 20,000/-



Contract Duration: For all positions, the initial contract period will be for 11 months which will be further extended based on the performance of the incumbent.


Upper Age Limit: 45 years as on 01/01/2018.
