1. Junior Assistant

No. of Post: 3 [UR-1, STP-1, OBC-1]

 

Age Limit: 18-38 years as on 31st January 2026 

 

Qualification: Bachelor's Degree in Arts/Science/Commerce with minimum typing speed of 40 words per minute in English and 25 words per minute in Assamese. Out of the three posts one post will be preferred from the candidates having Commerce background. 

 

Pay Band & Grade Pay (Rs): 14000-49000 and GP 6200/-   

 

2. Junior Accounts Assistant

No. of Post: 1

 

Age Limit: 18-38 years as on 31st January 2026  

 

Qualification: Bachelor degree in Commerce with major in Accountancy.

 

Pay Band & Grade Pay (Rs): 14000-49000 and GP 7400/-

Educational Qualification for ASTEC Recruitment: 

• Category A: M.Sc. in Physics/ Chemistry/ Mathematics or B.E./ B.Tech in Electrical Engg/ Electronics/ Instrumentation Engg/ Computer Science/ B.Sc (Agri)/ MCA or, any equivalent Degree in the relevant fields from any recognised university/ institution.

• Category B: M.Sc. in Environmental Science/ Zoology/ Botany/ Geography Or, BE/ B.Tech in Environmental Engg./ Civil Engg/ Chemical Engg. Or , any equivalent Degree in the relevant fields from any recognised university/ institution.

• Category C: M.Sc/ M.Tech in Geo-Informatics/ Geomatics/ Remote Sensing and GIS or any equivalent Degree in the relevant fields from any recognised university/ institution.  OR BE/ B.Tech in Geo-Informatics/ Geomatics/Physical Sciences or, any equivalent Degree in the relevant fields from any recognised university/ institution. 

Experience: 2 years of experience in the relevant field after completion of essential education qualification. For Category C, working experience in Geo Web Services/ SDSS/MWRS/IOT/AI/DP/Big Data Analysis/ Programming/ Coding in Python/ Java/C/C++/VB etc.

Other Criteria of ASTEC Recruitment:

Age Limit: The candidates should not be less than 21 years and not more than 38 years as on 01-01-2021. 

Age Relaxation: Category-wise age relaxation is as mentioned below : 

 

• SC/ST: 5 years

• OBC: 3 years 

 

Residentship: The candidate must be a permanent resident of Assam. As a domicile proof of the candidate, one of the documents viz. PRC/ Voter ID card/ Employment Registration needs to be enclosed.

Applications are invited for "Fellowship on Climate Change Reporting" for a duration of 6 months under Climate Cell of Environment Division, ASTE Council, Department of Science & Technology, Govt. of Assam with an objective to create awareness and sensitize people on issues related to weather, climate change and their probable impacts on, livelihood and adaptability by publishing articles/ reports fortnightly or at least 12 articles during the fellowship programme. The fellowships will be awarded for the year 2018.

Eligibility: Graduate in any discipline with a diploma or certificate course in Mass Communication & Journalism.

Remuneration: Rs.15,000/- per month.

Duration of Engagement: 6 months.

The candidates are advised to submit their application addressing "Head i/c, Environment Division, Assam Science Technology and Environment Council, Bigyan Bhawan, GS Road, Guwahati 781005", on or before 5 PM 30-09-2018 in prescribed form along with a synopsis of the proposed work (within 500 words) by post or E-mail to climatecell.astec@gmail.com.
