Applications are invited from male and female Indian citizens to fill up the following vacancies for the post of 'Sub Inspector (Works)' and 'Junior Engineer/ Sub Inspector (Electrical)', Group-B, Non-Gazetted, Non-Ministerial, Engineering (Civil & Electrical) (Combatised) in the Border Security Force, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India. The post is temporary but likely to become permanent.
1. Sub Inspector (Works)
Total Post: 103 [UR-67, OBC-23, SC-10, ST-03]
Educational Qualification: Pass 3 Years Diploma in Civil Engineering.
Age Limit: Not exceeding 30 years of age as on closing date of receipt of application.
2. Junior Engineer/ Sub Inspector (Electrical)
Total Post: 36 [UR-27, OBC-06, SC-1, ST-02]
Educational Qualification: Pass 3 Years Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
Age Limit: Not exceeding 30 years of age as on closing date of receipt of application.
Age Relaxation: Upper age relaxable by 05 years for SC/ ST candidates, 03 years for OBC candidates.
Physical Standards Test (PST):
- Height: 165 Cms for Men (Relaxable by 5 Cms for Hill Tribes and Adivasis Including Mizos & Nagas). 157 Cms for Women.
- Chest: 76-81 Cms for Men (Relaxable by 02 Cms for candidates below 20 years of age). Not applicable for Women.
- Weight: For men: Proportionate to height and age as per medical standards. For women: According to height but not less than 46 Kgs.
Application Fee:
- Demand Draft/ Indian Postal Order of Rs. 200/-
- Candidates belonging to Guwahati Centre the DD/ IPO should be drawn in favor of IG BSF Guwahati, Payable at SBI Maligaon, Code No.-0229, GPO Guwahati.

Selection Procedure:
- First Phase: Written Examination consists of 100 objective type with multiple choice question of 100 marks. Duration of examination is 01 Hour 30 Minutes.
- Second Phase: Documents verification, Physical Standard Test (PST) and Physical Efficiency Test (PET).
- Third Phase: Practical Test and Medical Examination.
Closing Date: Application Dully filled up in the given format should reach to the respective center within 30 days from the date of advertisement in Employment news i.e. by 01st Oct 2018. The last date for the candidates belonging to areas of North Eastern State, Sikkim, Jammu & Kashmir state, Himachal Pradesh, the Union Territory of Andaman and Nicobar Islands or Union Territory of Lakshadweep is within 45 days from the date of advertisement in Employment news i.e. up to 15th Oct 2018.
