LOK SABHA Recruitment 2020: Parliament of India, Lok Sabha Secretariat invites applications for recruitment of the vacancies for the post of Parliamentary Reporter (erstwhile post of Parliamentary Reporter Grade-II) in Lok Sabha Secretariat on Direct Recruitment basis.

LOK SABHA Recruitment 2020 - Overview:


Name of the Post: Parliamentary Reporter (Grade-II)
Total Vacancies: 21 Posts [SC-2, ST-2, OBC-5, UR-9, EWS-3]
  • English stream: 12 Posts

  • Hindi stream: 09 Posts

Qualification: Bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognised University and shorthand speed of 160 words per minute in English/ Hindi.

Desirable: Certificate in computer course recognised by (AICTE) / (NIELIT) or courses equivalent to 'O' Level in terms of syllabus and duration of course as prescribed by NIELIT.

Scale of Pay: [Level-10] Rs. 56100 - 177500) in the Pay Matrix.

Maximum Age (as on 28/01/2020): Up to 40 years. The upper age limit is relaxable as per govt rules.


LOK SABHA Recruitment 2020 - SELECTION PROCESS:


(A) Shorthand Test: Shorthand Test will be of 100 marks. Dictation in English/Hindi will be at the speed of :
  1. 160 w.p.m. of 10 minutes duration to be transcribed within 1 hour 30 minutes (which includes 10 minutes for reading of notes) in case of English Shorthand Test and 1 hour 55 minutes (which includes 10 minutes for reading of notes) in case of Hindi Shorthand Test.

  2. 140 w.p.m. of 10 minutes duration to be transcribed within 1 hour 20 minutes (which includes 10 minutes for reading of notes) in case of English Shorthand Test and 1 hour 45 minutes (which includes 10 minutes for reading of notes) in case of Hindi Shorthand Test.

(B) Written Test: Only those candidates who qualify the Shorthand Test will be called for Written Test. The duration of Test will be 50 minutes. There will be 100 multiple choice objective type questions consisting of 50 questions in each part. The Scheme of Written Test will be as follows:-

  • PART-A: General Knowledge and Current Affairs - 50 marks

  • PART-B: General English - 50 marks
