UGC NET June 2020: Online Application Re Open

UGC NET June 2020The University Grants Commission (UGC) has released notification to conducting UGC-NET to NTA. Hence applications are invited from eligible candidates to appear UGC NET June 2020.

UGC-NET is a test to determine the eligibility of Indian nationals for ‘Assistant Professor’ and ‘Junior Research Fellowship and Assistant Professor’ in Indian universities and colleges.



UGC NET June 2020 - Details:


Name of the Test: UGC National Eligibility Test (NET) 2020

Conducting Authority: National Testing Agency (NTA)

Exam Level: National

Conducted For: Junior Research Fellowship and Assistant Professorship.

Mode of Exam: Computer based Test (CBT)

Medium: English or Hindi

Duration of Examination: 180 minutes (03 hours)

Timing of Examination: 
  • First Shift: 9.30 am to 12.30 pm.
  • Second Shift: 02.30 pm to 05.30 pm



Eligibility Criteria for UGC NET 2020:

(a) General/ Unreserved/ General-EWS candidates who have secured at least 55% marks (without rounding off) in Master’s Degree or equivalent examination from universities/ institutions recognized by UGC.

(b) The Other Backward Classes (OBC) belonging to Non-Creamy Layer/ Scheduled Caste (SC)/Scheduled Tribe (ST)/ Persons with Disability (PwD)/Transgender category candidates who have secured at least 50% marks (without rounding off) in Master’s degree or equivalent examination are eligible for this Test.

(c) Candidates who are pursuing their Master’s degree or equivalent course or candidates who have appeared for their qualifying Master’s degree (final year) examination and whose result is still awaited or candidates whose qualifying examinations have been delayed may also apply for this test.



Age Limit:

JRF: Not more than 30 years as on 01.06.2020.
Assistant Professor: There is no upper age limit in applying for UGC-NET for Assistant Professor.



Application Fee:

  • General/ Unreserved: Rs. 1000/-
  • Gen-EWS/ OBC-NCL: Rs. 500/-
  • SC/ ST/ PwD/ Transgender: Rs. 250/-


Application Process for UGC NET June 2020:

Candidates are required to “Apply Online”  through NTA website (ugcnet.nta.nic.in). Candidates are required to follow the following steps:

Step-1: Apply for Online Registration using unique Email Id and Mobile No.

Step-2: Complete Online Application Form and note down the system generated Application No.

Step-3: Upload scanned images of Candidate’s Photograph and Candidate’s Signature in JPG/JPEG format.

Step-4: Make payment of fee through SBI /Syndicate/HDFC /ICICI /Paytm Payment Gateway (Debit/Credit Card or Net Banking/Paytm) and keep proof of fee paid.

Step-5: Download save and print copy of Confirmation Page after successful remittance of fee for your record and future reference.

  • Last Date for Online Submission of Application Form: March 16, 2020 to  June 30, 2020
  • Last Date of Successful Transaction of Fee: 17 April 2020
  • Correction in particulars of Application Form on website: 18 April to 24 April 2020
  • Downloading of Admit Cards from NTA website: 15 May, 2020
  • Dates of Examination: 15 June 2020 to 20 June 2020
  • Declaration of Result on NTA website: 5 July 2020
