DHE Assam Scholarship 2020: Apply Online, Scholarship for Degree/ PG Courses

Directorate of Higher Education (DHE) Assam released 3 Scholarship Scheme namely Minority Scholarship for Girls Students 2019-20, Combined Merit Scholarship 2020-21 & PG Research Scholarship Scheme 2020-21. Intending & Eligible candidates can apply online for DHE Assam Scholarship 2020 at https://directorateofhighereducation.assam.gov.in in between 13 October to 3rd November 2020.

Name of the DHE Assam Scholarship Scheme 2020:

1. Minority Community Scholarship for Girls Students 2019-20 (UG & PG) 
2. Combined Merit Scholarship 2020-21 (Degree & Master) 
3. PG Research Scholarship Scheme 2020-21

Below we are going to discuss the eligibility criteria, quantum of financial assistance and online apply process for the above 3 DHE Assam Scholarship Scheme 2020.


1. Minority Scholarship for Girls Students 2019-20 (UG & PG)

Quantum of Financial Assistance:

1. For UG Degree Courses: Rs.6,000/- per month
2. For PG Degree Courses: Rs.10,000/- per month

Eligibility Criteria Minority Scholarship for Girls Students:

1) The Girl students belonging to minority community must be a domicile of Assam, who has secured not less than 50% marks in the previous qualifying examination i.e H.S or Degree (UG). 
2) Permanent Resideru Certificate issued from D.C./S.D.O. (Civil) is MANDATORY. P. R.C issued by others will not be accepted. 
3) The Girl students must belong to a notified minority community i.e Muslims/Sikhs/Christians/ Buddhists/ Jains and Parsis. 
4) The annual income of their parents/ guardians from all Sources should not exceed RS. 2.00 lakh only. Income Certificate issued by Circle Officer of the State Govemments is required in respect of parent(s) / guardian(s) of the student MANDATORY. Income Certificate issued by others will not be accepted. 
5) A Self-Certified Community Certificate is required from the Student. 
6) The scholarship shall be awarded to regular students studying in Govt/Provinciaüsed Colleges and all Central & State Universities at Graduate and Post-Graduate Levels.
7) The students must have a valid Bank Account in their name in a Nationalized Bank. (Preferably SBI)
8) The Scholarship amount will be credited in the selected bank account through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) mode.
9) Selection will be made strictly on the basis of budgetary provision for the year 2020-21. 

Duration of Scholarship and it's Renewal:

- The scholarship, once awarded. may be renewed during the next academic year of the same course and same Institute on the production of recommendation certificate from the appropriate academic authorities that the student has successfully cleared all the papers and secured minimum 50% marks in the previous year's examination and attendance of the students at least 75%.
- If a student violates Institute discipline or any other terms and conditions of the scholarship. the scholarship may be suspended or cancelled.
- If a student is found to have obtained a scholarship by false statement, her scholarship shall be cancelled forthwith and the amount of the scholarship paid shall be recovered by the State Govt. 


2. Combined Merit Scholarship 2020-21 (Degree & Master) 

Quantum of Financial Assistance:

1. For UG Degree Courses: Rs.300/- per month
2. For PG Degree Courses: Rs.500/- per month

Eligibility Criteria for Combined Merit Scholarship:

1. The minimum qualifying marks to apply for the scholarship shall be-
a) 60% in Higher Secondary for those who apply for Combined Merit Degree Scholarship scheme.
b) 60% in General Degree Course for those who apply for Combined Merit Master Degree Scholarship scheme.

2. Students pursuing General Degree and Master Degree course in Arts/Science/ Commerce discipline in any recognized institution for the session 2020-2021 are eligible for the schemes.
3. The student must be a domicile of Assam (PRC document mandatory)
4. The Students must have valid (up-to-date) Bank Account in their name (Preferably in SBI) and details to be submitted alongwith the application (Bank Name, A/C Number, Branch Name, IFSC Code)
5. Scholarship shall be disbursed through DBT system to the beneficiaries.
6. The Candidate should possess the relevant qualification from any recognized Institution.
7. Selection will be made strictly on the basis of merit in all cases and also to be restricted as per budget allocation. 


3. PG Research Scholarship Scheme 2020-21

Quantum of Financial Assistance:

1. For Ph.D.: Rs.1000/- per month
2. For M.Phil: Rs.700/- per month
3. For PG LLM.: Rs. 500/- per month

Eligibility for PG Research Scholarship Scheme

1. Students must have uniformly good Academic records and who have obtained at least 55% marks in the last qualifying examinations (i.e. UG & P.G). 
2. Students who are admitted as LLM/ M.Phil/ Ph.d./ Post Doctorate Research Scholar in any recognized University for the session 2020-2021 are eligible for the schemes.
3. The student must be a domicile of Assam (PRC document mandatory) 
4. The Students must have valid (up-to-date) Bank Account in their name (Preferably in SBI) and details to be submitted alongwith the application (Bank Name, A/c Number, Branch Name, IFSC Code)
5. Scholarship shall be disbursed through DBT system to the beneficiaries.
6. The Candidate should possess the relevant qualification from any recognized Institution.
7. Selection will be made strictly on the basis of merit in all cases and also to be restricted as per budget allocation. 


How To Apply for DHE Assam Scholarship 2020:

Intending students fulfilling the above mentioned criteria must apply online for DHE Assam Scholarship 2020 at www.directorateofhighereducation.assam.gov.in in between 13th October to 3rd November 2020 and take printout after online submission and submit it to the Registrar/ Principal/ Head of the Institute along with the necessary copies of certificates/ testimonials. 

The Registrar/ Principal/ Head of the Institution shall verify the application and submit the documents (Hard copies of online form alongwith all relevant certificates/ testimonials) to Directorate of Higher Education, Assam, Kahilipara, Guwahati — 781 019 under his seal and signature on or before 10th November, 2020 positively. 

LIST OF THE DOCUMENTS TO BE SUBMITTED (SCANNED) 

a. PRC from DC/ S.D.O. as Proof of Domicile of State of Assam (Mandatory). 
b. Certificate from the Registrar/Head of the Institution in which the candidate is at present studying (Mandatory).
c. Certificate from Research Guide/ Copy of Admission receipt.
d. Final mark sheet of last qualifying examinations (i.e. U.G/P.G). 
e. Photograph and Signature Of the candidate. 

IMPORTANT DATES:

Last Date for Online Submission of Application by Candidates: 19 Nov 2020
Last date of Submission Hard Copy by Institution: 23 Nov 2020
