Gauhati University (GU) B.Ed Admission 2020- New Exam Date Announced:

Gauhati University (GU) is going to conduct a Common Entrance Test (GUBEDCET) for Admission into Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) Course, 2020. Interested candidates are able to submit their online application in the official application portal for admission into Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) under Gauhati University (GU).

Gauhati University (GU) B.Ed Eligibility Criteria:

A candidate may be allowed to appear in the GUBEDCET-2020 provided that he/she has passed the B.A / B.Sc. / B.Com. or MA/ MSc/M.Com or equivalent degree programme form a recognized Board/University with at least 50% marks (or 45% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD).

GU B.Ed. Common Entrance Test (GUBEDCET-2020) Details:

A common entrance test will be conducted to select meritorious candidates for admission into the Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) course under Gauhati University (GU). Highlights of GU B.Ed. Entrance Examination (GUBEDCET-2020) give below:

  - Total Questions: 100

  - Question Type: Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) with 4 options.

  - Duration: 2 Hours 30 Minutes

  - Exam Language: English

  - Negative Marking: There will be 4 marks for correct answer and (-1) for wrong answer. No negative marks for unanswered questions.

Other Details:

1. All questions will be of MCQ type with four alternative choices of which only one answer will be the correct option.

2. The test Booklet and the OMR will be in English. The test will be OMR based.

3. For every right answer, 4 marks will be awarded and for every wrong answer 1 mark will be deducted. There will no marking for un-attempted questions.

Application Fee for GU B.Ed Admission 2020:

Candidate who wants to submit online application for this entrance test (GUBEDCET-2020) needs to pay an amount of money as application fee & which is Rs.1000.00 + Bank Transaction Charge for this.

Candidates will be able to appear in any one of the following GUBEDCET-2020 Centres and the same shall have to be indicated while filling up the online form. A candidate has to select any three examination centres. A candidate will be assigned in any one of the centre based on the feasibility of a particular centre.

Gauhati University (GU) B.Ed Entrance Syllabus 2020:

Section A: (120 Marks): General English (Vocabulary, Tense, Voice, Narration, Prepositions, Correction of sentences, Comprehension)

Section A: (120 Marks): General Knowledge (Indian History, Indian Polity, General Science, Current affairs)

Section C: (120 Marks): Test of Reasoning and Numerical Ability.

Section D: (40 Marks): Current Indian Education (Issues and Policies) National Policy on Education 1986, Universalization of Elementary Education – Right to Education, Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) Secondary Education – Rastriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA).

Selection Process of Gauhati University (GU) B.Ed Admission:

Merit list will be prepared only on the basis of marks obtained in GUBEDCET2020. In case of a tie, i.e.

when two or more candidates obtain equal marks, inter-se merit of such candidates shall be decided as follows:

  i. Resolution by finding the ratio of positive marks and negative marks. Candidate having higher absolute value of the ratio will be given better rank.

  ii. Resolution by number of unanswered questions. Candidate with less number of unanswered questions will be given better rank.

  iii. If the resolution is not possible after this criterion, candidates with higher age will be given better rank.

Eligibility criteria will be verified by the respective colleges/institutions before admission. A candidate can’t claim a seat without fulfilling the eligibility criteria of NCTE through his/her name appears in the merit list prepared by Gauhati University. College/Institution will be responsible for such anomalies detected later on.
