The Directorate of Forensic Science, Assam hereby declares today, on 28.01.2024 the results of the recruitment for the post of Scientific Assistant in 36 nos. under the Directorate of Forensic Science, Assam, Kahilipara, Guwahati including the Regional Forensic Science Laboratories at Bongaigaon, Dibrugarh, Silchar and Tezpur respectively and for Mobile Forensic Laboratories.

Name of Post: Scientific Assistant
No of Posts: 36 Posts
→ 24 nos, of post for Regional Forensic Science Laboratories at Bongaigaon, Dibrugarh, Silchar and Tezpur respectively,
→ 7 nos. of post for Mobile Forensic Laboratories
→ 5 nos. of Post for Directorate Office at Kahilipara, Guwahati-781019
Scale of Pay: PB-2 (Rs.14,000- 60,500/) + Grade Pay of Rs. 7,600/-
Educational Qualification:
❖ B.Sc in Chemistry/ Forensic Science with specialization in concerned subject. OR
❖ B.Sc in Botany/Zoology Anthropology (Physical) / Biotechnology/ Forensic Science with specialization in concerned subject. OR
❖ B.Sc in Physics/ Electronics/ Instrumentation/ Forensic Science with specialization in concerned subject.
Pay Scale: PB-2 (Rs.14,000-60,500/-) + Grade Pay of Rs.7,600/-
Other Criteria of Forensic Science Assam Recruitment 2024
Residenship: The candidate must be an Indian Citizen as defined in Article 5 to 8 of the Constitution of India and must be a Permanent Resident of Assam.
Age Limit: The candidate should not be less than 21 years and more than 40 years of age on 1.1.2023 (5 Years relaxation for STP/SC/STH and 3 Years relaxation for OBC/ MOBC).
Employment Exchange Certificate: Candidate(s) must have a valid Employment Exchange Registration Number for the state of Assam.
Selection Process of Assam Forensic Science Recruitment
The candidates whose applications are accepted will be required to appear both in written test and skill test (Only for those who qualified in the written test)
• Written Test Subjects: Concerned Subjects, General Knowledge and General English
• Written Test Marks: 70
• Skill Test Marks: 30
• Total Marks: 100

The candidates will have to produce the original copy of the Admit card of the Written test, HSLC Admit Card/ Certificate for age proof, Proof of permanent residency of Assam (Permanent Residential certificate/ Employment exchange registration certificate), Caste Certificate (for those who have applied in reservation category) and Mark sheets of graduation (and post-graduation where applicable) for document verification on the day of the skill test.
