About the NMMS Scheme
National Means-Cum-Merit Scholarship (NMMS) Scheme is awarded to benefit the children of weaker sections of society. The scholarship is paid to the students till they complete their studies up to class 12th i.e. for a maximum period of 4 years @ Rs. 1000 /- (One thousand) per month.
Eligibility Criteria for NMMS Scholarship Assam 2025
Class: Students of Class-VIII studying in Government, Local Body, and Govt. Aided are only eligible.
Marks:
• Minimum of 55 % marks or equivalent grade in Class VII examination is needed for appearing NMMS examination(5% less for SC/ST students)
• The awardees should get minimum of 55% marks in Class IX and XI and 60% in Class X for continuance of scholarship (Relaxable by 5% for SC/ST candidates) in next higher classes.
Family Income: Scholarships are awarded to the gifted or meritorious students whose parental income is not more than Rs. 3,50,000/- per annum.
Type of School: Students studying as regular students in class IX, X, XI and XII in a Government, Government-aided and local body schools for a maximum period of four years.
Reservation under NMMS Scholarship, Assam
Assam State quota is 2411
→ 15% Scholarship will be reserved for students belonging SC category.
→ 7.5% Scholarship will be reserved for students belonging ST category.
→ 4% for Physically Challenged Group of Students.
Assam NMMS Exam Syllabus 2025
A written examination of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) will be held for the selection of candidates under NMMS Scholarship Scheme.
* Previous 5 years' question papers are available in the 'Bidyarthi' app at Google Play Store.
* The question paper will be in both Assamese & English medium only. The OMR sheet will be in English medium.
* Children with disability will be given extra time, as applicable.
* There are two papers as given below:

Qualifying Marks in Assam NMMS Exam 2025
❖ Qualifying marks for candidates from the General category is 40% in each paper and for candidates from SC, ST, PH is 32% in each paper.
❖ The student must have scored at least 55% mark or equivalent grade in Class VIII examination. (50% for SC/ST students).
Assam NMMS Exam Fees
• Rs. 200/- for General & OBC Category
• Rs. 180/- for SC/ST Category
• Rs. 175/- for Differently Abled students.
Mode of Payment: Applicants have to pay the exam through Debit/Credit card, internet banking at the time of the application.
Assam NMMS Scholarship Exam Admit Card 2025
Students can download their NNMS exam Admit Card through online from 'Bidyarthi' Android App or from the official website www.madhyamik.assam.gov.in.
Assam NMMS Exam 2025 Online Registration Process
The application process of the National Talent (NTS) Examination is ONLINE. Students have to download the 'Bidyarthi' Android App from the Play Store. Moreover. they can apply through the official website www.madhyamik.assam.gov.in.
Following documents to be uploaded at the time of apply online:
• Scanned copy of Candidate's Photograph.
• Scanned copy of Candidate's Signature.
• Scanned copy of Candidate's Caste certificate (Only for OBC, SC and ST candidates).
• Scanned copy of Candidate's Disability certificate (Disabled candidates).
• Scanned copy of Declaration Form.
