Home & Political Department Assam Recruitment Details
1. Public Prosecutor
No. of Post: 26 posts
Scale of Pay: Rs. 65000-112000 + Grade Pay of Rs. 18500 + 30% Special Allowance of Basic Pay and other allowances as admissible.
2. Additional Public Prosecutor
No. of Post: 88 posts
Scale of Pay: Rs. 30,000-1,10,000 + Grade Pay of Rs. 17500 + 30% Special Allowance of Basic Pay and other allowances as admissible.
3. Assistant Public Prosecutors
No. of Post: 185 posts
Scale of Pay: Rs. 30,000-1,10,000 + Grade Pay of Rs. 16900 + 30% Special Allowance of Basic Pay and other allowances as admissible.
Eligibility Criteria of Home & Political Department Recruitment
Education Qualification: Minimum Educational Qualification is B.Sc. (Science) with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics from recognized Board/ Institution.
Age (as on 01.01.2024) : Maximum 45 years, relaxable by 5 years for SC/ ST candidates, 3 years for OBC/ MOBC candidates; 10 years for Persons with Disability and for Ex- Servicemen shall be 50 (fifty) years for Unreserved category and shall be relaxed by 3 (three) years for OBC/MOBC candidates and 5 (five) years for SC/ST candidates.
Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Law from a recognized University of India (established or incorporated by or under a Central Act or State Act) or an Institute recognized by the Government of Assam or by the University Grants Commission (UGC).
Service Qualification :
(i) For Public Prosecutor - Having practice as an Advocate including in the High Court for a period of not less than 8 (eight) years, basically on the criminal side.
(ii) For Additional Public Prosecutor - Having practice as an Advocate including in the High Court for a period of not less than 7 (seven) years, basically on the criminal side.
(iii) For Assistant Public Prosecutor - Having practice as an Advocate including in the High Court for a period of not less than 3 (three) years, basically on the criminal side.
Domicile : The candidate must be a permanent resident of Assam.
Application Fee of Home and Political Department Assam Recruitment
Rs. 300/- for General candidates;
Rs 200/- for SC/ST/OBC/MOBC candidates; and
Rs 50/- for BPL candidates.
Fees must be paid by way of Demand Draft to be drawn in favour of Secretary, Board of Secondary Education, Assam.

The intending applicants are requested to submit typed applications in the Format to be uploaded on Home and Political Department’s website along with all necessary documents to the Secretary to the Government of Assam, Home & Political Department, Room No. 226, Block-C, 2nd Floor, Janata Bhawan, Dispur, Guwahati-6, by Speed Post/ Registered Post/ by Hand between 11:00 A.M. and 4:00 P.M. on all working days, clearly mentioning on the envelope, the post applied for and such application, complete in all aspects, should reach the office on or before 30.01.2024.
