Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) has released a job advertisement for the recruitment of 18 Assistant Engineer (AE) (Mechanical) posts under joint cadre of Public Works Roads (PWRD) and Public Works (Building & National Highway) Department [PW(B&NH)D]. Candidates may apply online by visiting APSC Recruitment Portal at apsc.nic.in.

Other Criteria of PWD Assam Recruitment

Age Limit: The candidates should not be less than 21 years of age and not more than 38 years of age as on 01/01/2023. 

Age Relaxation: The upper age limit is relaxable :

(i) By 5 years for SC/ST candidates, i.e. upto 43 years.

(ii) By 3 years for OBC/MOBC candidates i.e. upto 41 years

(iii) For Persons with benchmark disability (PWBD) by 10 years irrespective of SC/ST/OBC and General Category of candidate.

Educational Qualification:

• Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering of an Indian or foreign University recognized by the Government. OR Passed Part A & B of the Associate Membership Examination of the Institution of Engineers (India) and possessing a certificate to that effect from the institution of Engineers (India) only.

• Degrees obtained through Distance mode of education will not be eligible,

Local Language Proficiency: Apart from English, the candidate should have adequate knowledge of at least 1 (one) official language of the State of Assam (i.e. Assamese/Bengali/Bodo) except candidates belonging to Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council and Dima Hasao Autonomous Council.

Domicile: 

(i) The candidate must be a permanent resident of Assam.

(ii) The Candidate must produce PRC issued in Assam for educational purpose as a proof of residency along with the application form

Or

(iii) The candidate must produce Employment Exchange Registration certificate in the state of Assam along with the application form .
