NIT Silchar Non Teaching Recruitment Details
1. Registrar
No. of Posts: 1 [ UR: 1]
Age Limit: 56 years
Essential Qualification: Masters’ degree with at least 55% Marks or its equivalent grade ‘B’ in the UGC 7 point scale from a recognized University/Institute.
Experience:
i. Holding analogous post
ii. At least 15 years’ experience as Assistant Professor in the AGP of 7000.00 and above or with 8 years of service in the AGP of 8000.00 and above including as Associate Professor along with 3 years’ experience in educational administration, or
iii. Comparable experience in research establishment and /or other institutions of higher education, or
iv. 15 years of administrative experience, of which 8 years shall be as Deputy Registrar or an equivalent post in the GP of ₹ 7600.00 or above.
2. Librarian
No. of Posts: 1 [ UR: 1]
Age Limit: 56 years
Essential Qualification: Master’s Degree in Library Science/ Information Science/Documentation with CGPA of 6.5 in 10 points scale or at least 60% marks or its equivalent grade of ‘B’ in the UGC seven point scale and a consistently good academic record set out in these Regulations.
Experience:
i. Holding analogous post
ii. At least ten years’ experience as a Deputy Librarian in the library of technical University, educational institute of national importance, or any other large technical library at least 3 years being spent on a post in PB–4 with GP of Rs. 8,700.00 (i.e Level 13)or an equivalent post
iii. Experience (supported with evidence) of innovative Library service and commitment for computerization of library.
3. Assistant Registrar
No. of Posts: 1 [ OBC: 1]
Age Limit: Not exceeding 35 years
Essential Qualification: Master’s degree in any discipline with at least 55% marks or its equivalent Grade in the CGPA / UGC point scale with good academic record from a recognized University / Institute.
OR
Employees serving as Superintendent (SG–I) / Private Secretary (NFG) in PB–2, GP of Rs.5400/–with at least two years regular service or Superintendent (SG–II) / Private Secretary (NFG) in PB–2 GP of Rs.4800/–with at least five years regular service with Master’s degree.
4. Hindi Officer
No. of Posts: 1 [ UR: 1]
Age Limit: Not exceeding 35 years
Essential Qualification: Master’s degree of a recognized University in Hindi with English as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level; OR Master’s degree of a recognized University in English with Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level; OR Master’s degree of a recognized University in any subject other than Hindi or English, with Hindi medium and English as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level; OR Master’s degree of a recognized University in any subject other than Hindi or English, with English medium and Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject or as a medium of examination at the degree level; OR Master’s degree of a recognized University in any subject other than Hindi or English, with Hindi and English as compulsory or elective subjects or either of the two as a medium of examination and the other as a compulsory or elective subject at the degree level.
Experience: Three years’ experience of using/applying terminology (terminological work) in Hindi and translation work from English to Hindi or vice-versa, preferably of technical or scientific literature under Central / State Governments / Autonomous Body / Statutory Organizations / PSUs / Universities or recognized research or educational institutions. OR Three years’ experience of teaching in Hindi and English or research in Hindi or English under Central / State Governments / Autonomous Body / Statutory Organizations /PSUs / Universities or recognized research or educational institutions.
5. Superintendent
No. of Posts: 1 [ OBC: 1]
Age Limit: Not exceeding 30 years
Essential Qualification:
i. First Class Bachelor’s Degree or its equivalent from a recognized University or Institute in any discipline OR Master’s Degree in any discipline from a recognized University or Institute with at least 50% marks or equivalent grade
ii. Knowledge of Computer applications viz., Word processing, Spread Sheet.
6. Junior Hindi Translator
No. of Posts: 1 [ UR: 1 ]
Age Limit: Not exceeding 30 years
Essential Qualification: Master’s degree of a recognized University in Hindi with English as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level; OR Master’s degree of a recognized University in English with Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level OR Master’s degree of a recognized University in any subject other than Hindi or English, with Hindi medium and English as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of a examination at the degree level;OR Master’s degree of a recognized University in any subject other than Hindi or English, with English medium and Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of a examination at the degree level OR Master’s Degree of a recognized University in any subject other than Hindi or English, with Hindi and English as compulsory or elective subjects or either of the two as a medium of examination and the other as a compulsory or elective subject at degree level AND Recognized Diploma or Certificate course in translation from Hindi to English & vice versa or two years’ experience of translation work from Hindi to English and vice versa in Central or State Government office, including Government of India Undertaking.
7. Senior Technician
No. of Posts: 3 [ UR: 1, OBC: 1, ST: 1 ]
Age Limit: Not exceeding 33 years
Essential Qualification: Senior secondary (10+2) with Science from a Government recognized board with at least 60% marks
OR
Senior secondary (10+2) from a Government recognized board with at least 50% marks and ITI Course of one year or higher duration in appropriate trade
OR
Secondary (10) with at least 60% marks and ITI Certificate of 2 years duration in appropriate trade
OR
Diploma in Engineering of three year’s duration.
8. Senior Assistant
No. of Posts: 3 [ OBC: 4, SC: 1 ]
Age Limit: Not exceeding 33 years
Essential Qualification: Senior secondary (10+2) from a recognized board with a minimum Typing speed of 35 wpm. and proficiency in Computer Word Processing and Spread Sheet.
9. Technician
No. of Posts: 4 [ UR: 3, EWS: 1 ]
Age Limit: Not exceeding 27 years
Essential Qualification: Senior secondary (10+2) with Science from a Government recognized board with at least 60% marks OR Senior secondary (10+2) from a Government recognized board with at least 50% marks and ITI Course of one year or higher duration in appropriate trade OR Secondary (10) with at least 60% marks and ITI Certificate of 2 years duration in appropriate trade OR Diploma in Engineering of three year’s duration in relevant field from a Government recognized Polytechnic / Institute.
10. Junior Assistant
No. of Posts: 7 [ UR: 2, OBC: 3, SC: 1, PWBD: 1]
Age Limit: Not exceeding 27 years
Essential Qualification: Senior secondary (10+2) from a recognized board with a minimum Typing speed of 35 w.p.m. and proficiency in Computer Word Processing and Spread Sheet.

The hard copy of the application should include the following:
