Indian Oil Corporation, the largest commercial undertaking in India and a Fortune "Global 500" Company, as a measure of Skill Building Initiative for the Nation, invites applications from candidates with the following qualification for engagement as Apprentices in its Refineries under Apprentices Act, 1961/1973 in the Trades/ Disciplines mentioned below:
1. Trade Apprentice/ Attendant Operator (Chemical Plant)
Discipline: Chemical
Total Post: 60 [UR-33, SC-04, ST-07, OBC-16, PwBD-2]
Qualification: 3 years full-time B.Sc. (Physics, Maths, Chemistry/ Industrial Chemistry).
Period of Training: 12 months.
2. Trade Apprentice (Fitter)
Discipline: Mechanical
Total Post: 05 [UR-03, SC-0, ST-01, OBC-01, PwBD-0]
Qualification: Matric with 2 (Two) year ITI (Fitter) course.
Period of Training: 12 months.
3. Trade Apprentice (Boiler)
Discipline: Mechanical
Total Post: 03 [UR-02, SC-0, ST-0, OBC-01, PwBD-0]
Qualification: 3 years full-time B.Sc. (Physics, Maths, Chemistry/ Industrial Chemistry).
Period of Training: 24 months.
4. Technician Apprentice
Discipline: Chemical
Total Post: 15 [UR-08, SC-01, ST-02, OBC-04, PwBD-0]
Qualification: 3 years full-time Diploma in Chemical Engineering/ Refinery & Petrochemicals Engineering.
Period of Training: 12 months.
5. Technician Apprentice
Discipline: Mechanical
Total Post: 15 [UR-08, SC-01, ST-02, OBC-04, PwBD-1]
Qualification: 3 years full-time Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
Period of Training: 12 months.
6. Technician Apprentice
Discipline: Electrical
Total Post: 12 [UR-07, SC-01, ST-01, OBC-03, PwBD-1]
Qualification: 3 years full-time Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
Period of Training: 12 months.
7. Technician Apprentice
Discipline: Instrumentation
Total Post: 04 [UR-03, SC-0, ST-0, OBC-01, PwBD-0]
Qualification: 3 years full-time Diploma in Instrumentation/ Instrumentation & Electronics/ Instrumentation & Control Engineering.
Period of Training: 12 months.
Selection Methodology: On the basis of Written Test (2 hrs. duration) & Personal Interview.
Medical Fitness:
Candidates are requested to go through the 'Guidelines and Criteria for physical fitness for pre-employment medical examinations' and satisfy themselves of meeting the fitness criteria before starting the application submission process. The guideline is available at the address:
Relaxations of age to candidates belonging to reserved category:
- 18 years to 24 years as on 31.10.2018
- 5-years relaxation for SC/ ST, 3 years for OBC (NCL).
- Relaxation by 10 years for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) belonging to the Unreserved category, 13 years for PwBD belonging to OBC (Non-Creamy layer) and 15 years for PwBD belonging to SC/ ST.

After successfully applying/ registering online applications, the candidates are advised to send the print out of online application form, duly signed by him/her, to the Dy.
