Assam Police to Recruit 35000 Police Personnel:

10 new Commando Battalions will] be attached to the Assam Police very soon. for this purpose, Assam Police will be recruit 12,000 COMMANDO and 23,000 CIVIL POLICE personnel . This was announced today by Jyoti Mohanty, DGP, Assam Police.

DGP Mohanty  said , “In today's meeting with Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Bishwa Sharma, various internal issues were discussed including crime control system in the state, administration of special branches, speeding up investigations, maintaining law and order and so on. The Chief Minister, Dr. Sharma, has seen the dream of decorating the Assam Police in a non-formal manner".

The DGP also said that the newly formed Commando Battalion would be set up in some special areas of the state. In this way, the geographical integrity of Assam or the perception of India towards India can be countered.
