Assam ST Scholarship 2025 Notification
Directorate of Tribal Affairs (Plain), Assam released notification regarding ST Scholarship Scheme 2025 for students of Assam has been out. Students belonging to Scheduled Tribes (ST) category may apply online for these Pre-Matric and Post-Matric scholarships
for the academic year 2025-2026. This scholarship scheme is a
centrally sponsored scholarship scheme by the Government of India for
eligible Scheduled Tribes (ST) students. Interested and eligible candidates may
submit online application through National Scholarship Portal (NSP) at www.scholarships.gov.in.

• Post-matric: Class XI to Post Graduation level courses

Eligibility Criteria of Assam ST Scholarship
Pre-Matric Scholarship for ST Students:
Class IX to X
I. Applicant student should belong to the Scheduled Tribe, so specified in relation to the State/Union Territory to which he/she actually belongs (Domicile State).
II. The student should be studying in a Government School or in a School recognized by Government or a Central/State Board of Secondary Education.
III. The family income of student from all sources should not exceed Rs. 2.5 lakh per annum.
IV. The student should have a valid account in a Scheduled Bank, linked with Aadhaar and mobile number.
V. The student should not be getting any other scholarship.
VI. Scholarship for studying in any class will be available for only one year. If a student has to repeat a class, he/she would not get scholarship for the same class twice. The student can renew scholarship for the next class when he/she is promoted.
Post-Matric Scholarship for ST Students:
a. The student should belong to Scheduled Tribe so specified in relation to the State/Union Territory to which he/she actually belongs (Domicile State).
b. Student should have passed the Matriculation or Higher Secondary or any higher examination of a recognized University or Board of Secondary Education.
c. The family income of student from all sources should not exceed Rs.2.50 lakh per annum.
d. The student should have a valid account in a Schedule Bank linked with Aadhar and Mobile number.
e. The student should not be getting any other scholarship.
f. The scholarships will be given for study of recognized post-matriculation/ postsecondary courses, recognized by the concerned approving authority, pursued in following category of Institutions/Universities/Colleges.
i. All Government Institutes/Colleges/Universities
ii. Institutions of National Importance;
iii. Central University/ State university/ Autonomous colleges recognized by UGC and Universities/ Colleges recognized under section 2(f) and/or 12(b) of UGC Act;
iv. Deemed Universities;
v. Private Universities recognized by State/Centre with ‘A’ level or equivalent accreditation by NAAC, NBA;
vi. Private Professional Institutions affiliated to a recognized Central/State University
vii. Schools /colleges recognized by Govt/Govt aided for Classes XI to class XII;
viii. Diploma granting Institutions as recognized by State/UT Governments;
ix. Vocational Training Institute affiliated to National Council of Vocational Training (NCVT);
x. Institutions affiliated/approved by the appropriate bodies like MCI/AICTE etc or any regulatory body established by State/Centre as approving authority for particular course.
ST Scholarship Assam 2025 Application Form
The Online Application Form for apply ST Scholarship Assam is available in the national scholarship portal https://scholarships.gov.in. Eligible candidates (Fresh & Renewal) are required to apply online by filling up online application form available in the national scholarship portal https://scholarships.gov.in by following the below mentioned steps:
For Fresh Candidates
STEP-1: Visit official website of this scholarship (https://scholarships.gov.in) which is below mention in Important Links section. After that, click on New Registration option, again read the instruction and click on green colored Continue button.
STEP-2: A page will be displayed, enter all Personal Details such as State, Bank details, Date of Birth, etc. and, verify captcha and click on red colored Register button.
STEP-3: After that, A page containing your Student Application ID will be displayed, Please note this ID for future use and Click on Continue button.
STEP-4: Now a Login Page will be displayed, Enter Your User ID, Password (password will be sent on your Registered Mobile No), Verify Captcha and Click on Orange Login button.
STEP-5: Now Fill up your all Registration Details, Academic Details, Basic Details and click on Save & Continue button.
STEP-6: After that, Again fill up Contact Details, Scheme Details (Post-Matric or Post-Matric Scholarship ST Students), Upload Documents such as Caste Certificate & Income Certificate and click on green colored Final Submit button.
STEP-7: Once registration is complete on click of submit button, a Permanent Registration ID is generated which can be used for Renewal and tracking the status of application.
For Renewal Candidates:
Renewal Students have to apply with their Application Id and Date of Birth which they registered previous year. Students can also use Forgot Application ID to
retrieve their ID. Only those students would be able to Renew who had
actually got the scholarship payments last year from NSP 1.0.
Last date for Submission of Online Applications by Student: 24th October 2025.
