1. Senior Civilian Staff Officer (Logistics)
No. of Posts: 2

Eligibility Criteria: Officers under the Central or State Government or Union Territories or Statutory or Autonomous Organisations or Universities or Public Sector Undertaking or Semi–Governments or Recognized Research Institute: –

(a) (i) Holding analogous posts on a regular basis in the parent cadre or department; OR

Indian Coast Guard Recruitment 2020 Details:

Name of Post: Navik {Domestic Branch (Cook & Steward)}
No of Posts: 50 [ UR (GEN): 20, EWS: 5, OBC: 14, ST: 3, SC: 8]

Educational Qualification: 10th Class with 50% marks in aggregate from a board of Education recognized by Central/ State Government (5% relaxation in above minimum cut off will be given for SC/ST candidates and outstanding sports person of National level who have obtained Ist, IInd or IIIrd position in any field of sports events at the Open National Championship/ Inter-state National Championship)


Age: 18 to 22 years as on 01 Apr 2021 i.e. born between 01 Apr1999to 31 Mar 2003, both dates are inclusive. ( Upper age relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC candidates).


Job Roles:

(i) Cook: They would be required to prepare food as per menu (both vegetarian and non-vegetarian including handling of meat products) and accounting of ration.In addition, they will also be allotted other duties for efficient running of the organisation.

(ii) Steward: They would be required to serve food in the Officer’s mess as waiters, housekeeping, maintenance and accounting of funds, wine and stores handling, preparation of menu etc. In addition, they will also be allotted other duties for efficient running of the organisation.

Selection Process for Indian Coast Guard Navik Recruitment:


(A) Written Examination: The written test will be of objective type, which will generally cover subjects such as

  • General Knowledge,
  • Current Affairs,
  • Quantitative Aptitude
  • Reasoning etc.
(B) Physical Fitness Test (PFT): PFT will be conducted for all those who qualify the written tests. The PFT consists of:-
  • 1.6 Kilometer run to be completed in 7 minutes
  • 20 Squat ups (Uthak Baithak)
  • 10 Push up.
(C) Medical Standards:
  • Height: Minimum 157 Cm

  • Weight: Praporte to Height & Age
  • Squat Ups: 20 Times
  • Push UP: 10 Times
Note: The final selection will be based on the basis of merit depending on their performance in  Written  Test,  Physical Fitness Test (PFT) and fitness in the Medical Examination.
