Assam Secretariat Modification of Qualification 2020: Asstt Language Officer, Dy Marshal, Asstt Librarian

Assam Secretariat has released a notification regarding the last date extension and  Modification of Qualification for the posts of Assistant Language Officer, Deputy Marshal, Assistant Librarian posts to its Advertisement No. LAE72/2015/1333 Dated Dispur, the 1st June 2020, published on 2nd June 2020.

As per the notification the partial modification of Qualifications are as follows:

A) Assistant Language Officer

Minimum Qualification: 

(a) The candidate must possess Master Degreesecuring 50% marks in Arts from any recognized University. Preference shall be given to those candidates having Master Degree in English or Assamese.

(b) The candidate must be capable of translating any matter from both Assamese to English and English to Assamese and must have good command over English and Assamese languages and adequate knowledge of Computer Application.

B) Deputy Marshal

Minimum Qualification: The candidate must possess Bachelor Degree in any discipline with at least 50% marks from any recognized University with NCC"C" Certificate.


C) Assistant Librarian

Minimum Qualification:

(a) The candidate must possess Bachelor Degree in any discipline along with Bachelor's/ Master's Degree in Library Science/ Library and Infomation Science from any recognized University.

(b) Preference shall be given to those candidates having experience in dealing with Library Management in reputed institution/ organization and have practical knowledge in Digital Library.

COVID-19: Gauhati University Academic Calendar - Admission Date/ Examination Schedule

COVID-19: Gauhati University Academic Calendar: For Lockdown, Gauhati University takes steps in respect of the Academic Calendar in order to maintain academic programme constancy and to mitigate loss due to the situation arising out of COVID-19.

Following steps are being taken in respect of the Academic Calendar for the University Classes and its affiliated colleges/ institutes etc.

1. For U.G. Courses:

(a) Admission to Degree Courses to be completed by 15 July, 2020 subject to declaration of class XII results on time.

(b) 2nd, 4th and 6th semester U.G. Examination to be held simultaneously in the month of July, 2020 as it is linked with new admission at higher level(s)

(c) All remaining Internal Examinations for U.G. course to be assignment based/ home assignment based.

(d) Those U.G. students for whom Physical based, lab based and field work based activities are hampered due to the Covid-19 pandemic, such students may submit library/ e-library based project work for the ongoing semester only.

2. For P.G. Courses:

(a) All P.G. Examinations will commence after 15 August, 2020.

(b) All remaining Internal Examinations for P.G. course to be assignment based/ home assignment based.

(c) P.G. Entrance Examinations for the session 2020-2021 to be held depending on completion of Examinations as mentioned in Point 1 (b) above but before 15th September, 2020.

(d) New Academic Session to be started by 15th September, 2020.

(e) The 1st and 3rd semester P.G. Classes to continue up to 18 December. 2020.

(f) Study Leave for 1st and 3rd semester students will be from December 19 to 27, 2020.

(g) Examinations for 1st and 3rd semester for P.G. Classes for new academic session will be held from December 28, 2020 and to be completed by January 2021.

(h) Commencement of Classes of 2nd and 4th semester P.G. Classes for the session 2020-2021 will start from January, 2021 (for students who will be completing 1st and 3rd semester Classes by that time).

(i) Those P.G. students for whom Physical based, lab based and field work based activities are hampered due to the Covid-19 pandemic, such students may submit library/ e-library based project work for the ongoing semester only.

3. All B.Ed. Examinations will commence from the last week of July, 2020

4. All LL.B Examinations will commence as per the schedule of U.G. Examinations as mentioned above.

5. All M.Ed Examinations will commence as per the schedule of P.G. Examinations as mentioned above.

* The above steps have been taken with the assumption that academic activities in the state will restart from 1 June, 2020.

* The schedule may change subject to any mandatory/ recommendatory guidelines, il any, issued by the UGC and Govt. of Assam in due course of time.

* The examinations not covered by this notification shall be notified separately by the Controller of Examinations, G.U.

This is issued with the approval of the Hon'ble Vice-Chancellor, G.U. dated 28.04.2020.

Scholarship for SC Students in Assam 2020: It is for information to all concerned that Fresh/Renewal applications for Pre-Matric  (IX-X) and Post-Matric Scholarships for students of Assam belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC) are invited for the year 2019-20 through National Scholarship Portal (NSP) www.scholarships.gov.in.

Scholarship for SC Students in Assam 2020 - Details:

Name of the Scheme:

1. Pre Matric Scholarship to SC students read in Class IX-X
Eligibility: Annual Family income should be Rs.2.50 Lakh.

Eligibility: Annual Family income should be Rs.2.50 Lakh.


Other Eligibility Criteria:

Application will be entertained through online portal only for students studying in Govt./ Govt. aided/Govt. recognized/Madhymik/University/Higher Secondary/ Colleges including Medical Technical Institutions etc having valid U-DISE /AISHE/ NCVT code only.

How To Apply:

All candidates are required to apply online through National Scholarship Portal (NSP) www.scholarships.gov.in and should submit hard copy to the Office of the Welfare of SC, Assam, Guwahati-6 latest by 21/03/2020.

(i) For verification of applications, each Institution has to fill their Institute's Nodal Officerregistration form and get it approved by the State Nodal Officer. If the Instituteschool/ college does not do so, they will not be able to verify the applications online.

(ii) The guidelines for the schemes as well as Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) and User manual for institutes are available on the National Scholarship Portal website www.scholarships.gov.in.

Note:

Institutions are hereby informed that timely verification of applications which include Scrutiny of documents viz. Caste Certificate, Income Certificate, etc. is the responsibility of the Institution Nodal Officer and will also be responsible/liable for any false or incorrect information.

It is also the responsibility of the Institution Nodal Officer to mobilize online applications of students and after verifications of the applications within the last date, submit the hard of the approved verified list to the Office of the Welfare of SC, Assam, Guwahati-6 latest by 21/03/2020.
