Emoluments: Presently, the starting basic pay is 48,480/- (Plus 4 advance increments) in the scale of 48480-2000/7-62480-2340/2-67160-2680/7-85920 applicable to Junior Management Grade Scale-I. The official will be eligible for DA, HRA, CCA, PF, Contributory Pension Fund i.e., NPS, LFC, Medical Facility, Lease rental facility etc. and other allowances & perquisites as per rules in force from time to time. The approximate CTC at initial scale of pay at Mumbai Centre is Rs.21.97 Lacs.

Eligibility Criteria of SBI PO Recruitment

Age Limit: Not below 21 years and not above 30 years as on 01.04.2026 i.e. candidates must have been born not later than 01.04.2005 and not earlier than 02.04.1996 (both days inclusive).

 

Age Relaxation: The upper age limit is relaxable :

• SC/ST — 5 years

• OBC — 3 years

• PwBD — 10 years

• PwBD (OBC/NCL) — 13 years

• PwBD (SC/ST) — 15 years

• Ex-Servicemen — 5 years

 

Educational Qualification: Graduation in any discipline from a recognised University or any equivalent qualification recognised as such by the Central Government.

Final Year Students: Those who are in the Final Year/ Semester of their Graduation may also apply provisionally subject to the condition that, if called for interview, they will have to produce proof of having passed the graduation examination on or before 30.09.2026.

Others: Candidates possessing qualifications in Medical, Engineering, Chartered Accountant, Cost Accountant would also be eligible.

Selection Process of SBI Probationary Officer (PO)

The selection for Probationary Officers will be done through a three-Phase process:

 

 Phase-I:  Online Preliminary Examination:  

 

Preliminary Examination consisting of Objective Test for 100 marks will be conducted online. The test will have of 3 Sections (with separate timings for each section) as follows:

 Phase-II:  Online Main Examination:

❖ Negative Marking (Both for Preliminary & Main Exam)
 

There will be penalty for wrong answers marked in Objective Tests. For each question for which a wrong answer has been given by the candidate, 1/4th of marks assigned to that question will be deducted as penalty to arrive at corrected score. If a question is left blank, i.e. if no answer is marked by candidate, there will be no penalty for that question.

 

 

 Phase-III:  Psychometric Test, Group Exercises & Interview:

 

SBI PO Phase-III consists of three components:

1. Psychometric Test (No separate marks)
 

➢ Assesses personality traits, behavior, leadership style, teamwork, emotional intelligence, and decision-making ability.
➢ The report may be used by the interview panel during the interview.
 

2. Group Exercise (GE) – 20 Marks
 

➢ Candidates participate in a group activity/discussion.
➢ Evaluates communication skills, teamwork, leadership, problem-solving, and ability to work in a group.
 

3. Personal Interview (PI) – 30 Marks
 

➢ One-to-one interaction with the interview board.
➢ Tests banking awareness, current affairs, personal background, confidence, communication skills, and overall suitability for the role.

Marks Breakup:

➢ Psychometric Test: No marks
➢ Group Exercise: 20 marks
➢ Interview: 30 marks
➢ Total Phase-III Marks: 50

For the final merit list, the Mains Exam carries 75% weightage and Phase-III (GE + Interview) carries 25% weightage.

State Bank of India (SBI) released the admit cards to conduct Online Exam for 1422 nos. posts of Circle Based Officer (CBO). Candidates who submitted online applications for these vacancies can download their admit card online from the official website of SBI (www.sbi.co.in). No one will be allowed to appear in the examination without the original admit card.

Selection Process of SBI Recruitment:

The selection process consists of Online Test, Screening and Interview.

 Online Test: 

Online test will consist of Objective Tests for 120 marks and Descriptive Test for 50 marks. The Descriptive Test will be administered immediately after conclusion of the Objective Test and candidates will have to type their Descriptive Test answers on the computer. 

(i) Objective Test: The duration of objective test is 2 hours and it consists of 4 Sections of total 120 marks. There will be separate timing for every section.

(ii) Descriptive Test: The duration of Descriptive Test is 30 minutes. It will be a Test of English Language (Letter Writing & Essay) with two questions for total 50 marks.

Merit list will be drawn Circle wise and Category wise on the basis of the aggregate marks scored in Online Test. There will be no sectional qualifying marks. Candidates numbering up to 3 times (approx.) of the Circle wise and Category wise vacancies will be shortlisted for Screening from the top of the merit list drawn on Circle wise and Category wise subject to a candidate scoring the minimum aggregate qualifying score, as decided by the Bank.

Negative Marking: There will be no penalty for wrong answers marked in Objective Tests.

 Screening: 

Online application and documents of candidates, who are shortlisted based on performance in online examination, will be placed before the Screening Committee.

The Screening Committee constituted by the Bank will examine whether the candidates fulfil the required eligibility criteria of experience. The Committee will match the job profile submitted by the candidates (certified by their existing/ previous employer(s) with whom they are/were employed) with the job profile of Scale-I Generalist Officer of the State Bank of India. In case their job profile does not match substantially or is different than the job profile of Scale-I Generalist Officer of State Bank of India, then the application of the candidate will be summarily rejected. The decision of the Bank in this regard would be final and binding on all candidates. No representation or correspondence will be entertained by the Bank in this regard.

The candidates, who fulfil the required experience as decided by the Screening Committee, will be called for interview.

 Interview: 

Interview will consist of 50 marks. Candidates will have to score minimum qualifying marks in interview to be considered for final selection. The minimum qualifying marks will be decided by the Bank.

Candidates qualifying for interview under 'OBC' category would be required to submit OBC certificate containing the 'Non-Creamy layer' clause. Candidates who have registered themselves as OBC but do not submit OBC 'Non-Creamy layer' certificate and request for interview under General category will not be entertained.

Candidates qualifying for interview under EWS category would be required to submit EWS certificate issued based on gross annual income for the financial year 2021-22 as per DoPT guidelines. Candidates who have registered themselves as EWS but do not submit EWS certificate issued based on gross annual income for the financial year 2021-22 as per DoPT guidelines and request for interview under General category will not be entertained.

 Final Selection: 

The candidates will have to qualify both in Online Test and Interview separately. The marks obtained in Online Test, both in the Objective Test and the Descriptive Test, will be added to the marks obtained in Interview for preparing the final merit list. Final merit list would be prepared based on normalization of marks scored in Online Test and Interview with 75:25 weightage respectively.

Marks secured by the candidates in the Online Test (out of 170 marks) are converted to out of 75 marks and Interview scores of candidates (out of 50 marks) are converted to out of 25 marks. The final merit list (Circle wise and category wise) is arrived at after aggregating (out of 100) converted marks of Online Test and Interview. Selection will be made from the top ranked candidates in merit list prepared on Circle wise and Category wise.

SBI Junior Associate Recruitment 2021 Details:

Name of Post: Junior Associate (Customer Support and Sales)

Pay Scale: Rs.17900-1000/3-20900-1230/3-24590-1490/4-30550-1730/7-42600-3270/1-45930-1990/1-47920. The starting Basic Pay is Rs.19900/- (Rs.17900/- plus two advance increments admissible to graduates)

Eligibility Criteria of SBI Junior Associate Recruitment:

Age Limit:

Not below 20 years and not above 28 years as on 01.04.2021, i.e. candidates must have been born not earlier than 02.04.1993 and not later than 01.04.2001 (both days inclusive).

Age Relaxation: The upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST candidates, 3 years for OBC candidates and 10 years for PwD candidates.

Educational Qualification:

Graduation in any discipline from a recognised University or any equivalent qualification recognised as such by Central Government. Candidates having integrated dual degree (IDD) certificate should ensure that the date of passing the IDD is on or before 16.08.2021.

Those who are in the final year/ semester of their graduation may also apply provisionally subject to the condition that, if provisionally selected, they will have to produce proof of having passed the graduation examination on or before 16.08.2021.

SBI Junior Associate Selection Procedure 2021:

The selection process will consist of on-line test (Preliminary & Main exam) and test of specified opted local language.

Phase-I: Preliminary Examination: Online Preliminary Exam consisting of Objective Tests for 100 marks will be conducted online. This test would be of 1-hour duration consisting of 3 Sections of English language, Numerical Ability and Reasoning Ability.

Phase - II: Main Examination: Structure of Online Main Exam would be as follows: General/ Financial Awareness, General English, Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning Ability & Computer Aptitude.

Test of specified opted local language: Those who qualify for selection and produce 10th or 12th standard mark sheet/ certificate evidencing having studied the specified opted local language will not be subjected to any Language test. In case of others (qualified for selection), specified opted local language test will be conducted after provisional selection but before joining. Candidates not found proficient in specified opted local language would be disqualified.

Final selection will be subject to-

i. Verification of eligibility for the post and information furnished in the online application.

ii. Qualifying in test of specified opted local language, where applicable, as detailed above.
