Assam Special TET 2026 - Download Admit Card from 12th June

Govt. of Assam has released advertisement to conduct the Assam Special Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) 2026 for Lower Primary (LP) and Upper Primary (UP) level for the Bodo, Garo, Manipuri & Hmar medium elementary schools of Assam. Interested and eligible candidates having permanent residence of Assam may apply for Paper I (Lower Primary) and Paper II (Upper Primary) of Special TET 2026.
 
 NOTICE For Admit Card 
It is hereby informed to all concerned that the Written Examination for Special Assam Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) - 2026 for Lower Primary and Upper Primary Level for Bodo, Garo, Manipuri and Hmar mediums has been scheduled on 28/06/2026 (Sunday).  

The facility for downloading the Admit card will be available in the official website of ASSEB, Div-l (erstwhile SEBA) www.sebaonline.org from 11:00 a.m. of 12/06/2026 onwards. The candidates can download their Admit Cards by using their Application No. and Password used while filling up of the forms when applying for the posts.

Admit Card Release Date: 12th June 2026

Duration of Exam: 2 ½ hours (150 Minutes) for Paper-I and 2 ½ hours (150 Minutes) for Paper II. Additional 20 minutes’ time (per hour) will be there for visually impaired candidates.

No of Papers: 2 Papers

• Paper-I: Lower Primary (LP), for classes I to V
• Paper-II: Upper Primary (UP), for classes VI to VIII

Type of Questions: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)

No of Questions: 150 MCQs for each Paper.

Negative Marking: There is no negative marking .

Medium of Exam: Assamese, Bengali, Bodo and English

Validity of TET Certificate: TET Certificate has a lifetime validity.

Mode of Application: Online
 
 

Qualifying in Special Assam TET- 2026

 
A candidate is required to score 60% i.e. 90 marks out of 150 marks in total and also has to score minimum 60% i.e. 18 marks out of 30 marks in Language-1 section of Paper I (LP Level) and Paper II (UP Level), as applicable, to qualify the S p e c i a l A s s a m Teachers’ Eligibility Test (TET). 
 
However, for SC/ST (Hills)/ST (Plain)/OBC/MOBC/PWD (PH), there will be relaxation of 5% in total and 10% relaxation in Language-1 section. Thus, for these candidates, qualifying marks will be 83 marks out of 150 marks i.e. 55% in total and 15 marks out of 30 marks i.e. 50% in Language-1 section.
 

Eligibility Criteria of Assam Special TET


Residentship: Candidate must be a permanent resident of the State of Assam.

Relaxation: Relaxation up to 5% in the academic marks in HSSLC or Graduation shall be applicable for candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/MOBC/PWD(PH) to appear in Special Assam TET- 2026 (The degree of handicap in case of PH candidates should be minimum 40% and to be certified by the competent authority) both for Paper-I (LP Level) and Paper-II (UP Level).


Educational Qualification for Special TET Assam


 Lower Primary TET (Classes I to V): 

a) Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known)
OR
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed)
OR
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education)
OR
Graduation and two year Diploma in Elementary Education (by. whatever name known)

 Upper Primary TET (Classes VI to VIII): 

a) Graduation and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known)
OR
At least 50% marks either in Graduation or in Post Graduation and B. Ed
OR
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B. El. Ed).
OR
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4-year B.A./ B. Sc. Ed. Or B.A. Ed/B. Sc. Ed.
OR
Graduation with at least 50% marks and 1-year B. Ed. (Special Education)

Note: Minimum percentage of marks in graduation shall not be applicable to those incumbents who had already taken admission to the Bachelor of Education or Bachelor of Elementary Education or equivalent course prior to the 29 July, 2011.

Important Instructions for Assam Special TET 2026

 
➢ The candidates will have to produce hard copy of the Admit Card and a valid Photo Identity Card (in physical form) issued by Government such as Aadhaar card, PAN card, Driving License, Voter-ID Card to appear in the Written Examination and must follow all the instructions mentioned in the Admit Card. 
 
➢ In case of PwBD candidates, certificate from Competent Authority or the District Commissioner, as the case may be, will also be required and such candidates are requested to procure the same at the earliest. 
 
➢ Candidates are advised not to bring Mobile Phones (even in switched off mode) or any electronic equipments or program mobile device or storage media devices such as smart watches/digital watches, health bands, electronic pen/scanner, Bluetooth devices, earphones, microphones or any other such devices either in working or switched off mode capable of being used as a communication device, calculator, pen drives, bits of paper etc. There will not be any arrangement for keeping such materials in safe custody of the Examination centre. 
 
➢ Only the hard copy of Admit Card, Proof of Identity and Blue/ Black Ball point pen, pencil, scale, eraser, transparent water bottle without labels, one handkerchief, plastic cards such as debit card/credit card (not more than one), driving license and minimum amount of cash will be allowed to be taken inside the Examination Hall.

Interested and eligible candidates may submit their application through online mode by visiting https://ssa.assam.gov.in, https://sebaonline.org or https://scert.assam.gov.in from 7th January 2026 onwards. Follow the below given steps at the time of apply online:

➢ Download Instruction Manual.
➢ Read carefully the Instruction Manual on how to submit the online application form.
➢ Fill up Online application form, Upload Passport size colour Photo. Signature. Professional Qualification mark sheet, Admission slip of ongoing professional course ( in case of candidates pursuing D.EI.Ed) of recommended size (as mentioned in Instruction Manual) and submit the online application.
➢ The candidate has to pay the fee through online banking/credit card/ debit card etc.
➢ He/she can take print out of the Online Application form.

Govt. of Assam has released advertisement to conduct the 6th Schedule Teacher Eligibility Test (TET)-2023 for Lower Primary (LP) and Upper Primary (UP) level for the 6th Schedule area districts of Assam. Interested and eligible candidates having permanent residence in the 6th Schedule area district of Assam may apply for Paper I (Lower Primary) and Paper II (Upper Primary) of Special 6th Schedule TET-2023.
 
The qualified candidates of the 6th Schedule TET will be eligible to participate in the recruitment process for the post of elementary teachers of schools located in the 6th Schedule area provided they have other academic and professional qualification as per NCTE norms.

C. For Paper-II (UP Level) relaxation up to 5% in Graduation marks shall be applicable for candidates who were admitted in 1-Year B.Ed. before 31/08/2009 as per NCTE Notification No. F.51-1/2009-NCTE (N&S) dated 31st August 2009 and qualified 1-Year B.Ed. subsequently.

b) However, a candidate who is pursuing and having Admit Card of final year examination of any of the teacher education courses (recognized by the NCTE or the RCI, as the case may be) specified in the NCTE Guideline dated 11th February, 2011, may also apply for TET. However he/she can apply for appointment only after acquiring all the required qualification.

Remark: Candidate admitted into 2 year D.El.Ed program before 31st August 2009: Please refer to Clause B under subheading Relaxation.

 Upper Primary TET (Classes VI to VIII): 

a) Graduation and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known)
OR
At least 50% marks either in Graduation or in Post Graduation and B. Ed
OR
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B. El. Ed).

Special TET Assam 2020 Notification : Collect Unique ID for Online Application

Special TET Assam 2020 Notification: As per the notification of Mission Director, SSA Assam, Kahilipara, all candidates who intend to appear "Special TET 2020", are requested to collect their Unique Id from respective District Mission Office of Sarba Siksha Abhiyan (SSA).




Special TET Assam 2020  As per the Official Notification:

This is for general information for all concerned that a Special TET for Lower Primary Level will be conducted for contractual employees (intending to appear in Special TET) engaged from time to time under various interventions of SSA, Assam / presently working under various interventions on contractual basis under SSA, Assam (except the TET qualified contractual teachers/State Pool teachers working under SSA) having requisite qualifications as per NCTE norms for appearing in TET.


In this connection, all such intending candidates (as stated above) are requested to collect one Unique ID from respective District Mission Office of Sarba Siksha Abhiyan (SSA) during office hours (except holidays) within 18th February 2020.


As candidates having requisite qualifications as per NCTE norms will be eligible to appear in the Special TET, the intending candidates are requested to collect the Unique ID, only if they possess the requisite qualifications as per NCTE norms.


Submission of this Unique ID is mandatory during online application for the Special TET. Hence, all the intending candidates (as stated above) are requested to collect the Unique ID on or before 18.02.2020 without fail. No Unique ID will be issued after 18th February 2020.


As this Special TET will be conducted only for contractual employees (intending to appear in Special TET) engaged from time to time under various interventions of SSA, Assam / presently working under various interventions on contractual basis under SSA, Assam (except the TET qualified contractual teachers/State Pool teachers working under SSA) having requisite qualifications as per NCTE norms for appearing in TET.


Detection of any false claim by any candidate in future will result in cancellation of his/her candidature. Further, his/her Special TET pass certificate will be considered as invalid upon such detection even after awarding of the Special TET pass certificate.
