Age Limit: The candidate’s age should be between 18 years to 27 years as on 16th November 2025.

 

Upper Age Limit:

➢ The age limit is relaxable up to maximum 5 years to the meritorious sportspersons specified in Para 1 (a) of DoP&AR O.M. No. 14015/1/76-Estt.(D) dtd 4.8.1980.

Essential Qualification:

i) Graduate Degree in Engineering in Electronics or Electronics and Tele-communication or Electronics and Communication or Electrical and Electronics or Information Technology or Computer Science or Computer Engineering or Computer Science and Engineering; from a Government recognized University/College/Institute. Or

ii) Master’s Degree in Science with Electronics or Computer Science or Physics with Electronics or Electronics & Communication; or Master’s Degree in Computer Applications; from a Government recognized University/College/Institute.

4. Security Officer (Technical) - Degree in Electrical/Electronics/Communications Engineering or M.Sc. in Physics or Chemistry or equivalent. 3 years experience (5 years in the case of diploma holders for B.Sc.) in the practical/field in detection and disposal of explosive devices.

5. Deputy Central Intelligence Officer/ Tech-Telephone - Must possess Bachelor Degree in Engineering (B.E or B.Tech or B.Sc (Engg)) in the fields of Electronics and Communication or Electronics and Telecommunications or Telecommunication. (B.Tel. Syllabus:

The Syllabus for Security Assistant Post of Intelligence Bureau (IB) is as shown below:

Tier-I: (Written Exam) - The written exam will be of Objective type Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). There will be 100 marks and the duration of the test will be 2 hours. The written examination is divided into 4 parts containing questions of 1 marks each on:

• General Awareness (40 questions)
• Quantitative Aptitude (20 questions)
• Logical/analytical ability (20 questions)
• English language (20 questions)

Tier-II: Qualifying marks 20

a) Descriptive Type - Translation of a passage of 500 words from local language/dialect to English and vice versa. Marks 40 and duration 1 hour.
